Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele got their flirt on last night at the LA premiere of New Year's Eve.

Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele got their flirt on last night at the LA premiere of New Year's Eve. She brought along her best friend Jonathan Groff as her date, but later even thanked Ashton on Twitter. Lea wrote to Ashton, "It was such an honor working with you. I cannot thank you enough."

Joining Ashton and a Valentino-clad Lea on the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre were their other costars, including Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Abigail Breslin. Hilary Swank, meanwhile, posed in a sequined Elie Saab gown. Katherine Heigl threw an arm around husband Josh Kelley, and Josh Duhamel accompanied wife Fergie. Sofia Vergara posed solo and looked amazing in a LBD. The cast moved on to an afterparty held at Hollywood and Highland, where Sofia tweeted that Ludacris joined in on the fun.

What Are Your Postfamily Holiday Plans?

I love the week between Christmas and New Year's.

I love the week between Christmas and New Year's. Everyone seems to be not working, working remotely, or just phoning it in. Maybe you're traveling or friends are coming to town, but at some point the holidays go from family time to friend time. And that is a wonderful thing.

I definitely relied on this how-to-find-alone-time advice over the last week while I was at my sister's. But that was very difficult, as she has four children (ages six, five, two, and seven weeks) who will find you and turn it into a game of hide-n-seek. They are cuddly, hilarious, and pure evil in Janie and Jack.

So when I got on the plane, barely escaping the East Coast storm, and headed west to San Francisco, I relished the calm (or sleep aid?) that washed over me. I started making to-do lists on my phone for all the shopping, cooking, and cleaning I need to do before friends from New York arrive Wednesday for our New Year's weekend of champagne, hot tubs, and absolutely no hiking in Big Sur.

So, yes, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Family time is over; friend time is on. What are you doing?

The Secret to a Perfect New Year's Eve Kiss

While snow, surprise, and the ideal man may have made for the perfect New Year's Eve kiss in Bridget Jones's Diary, it is not necessary for the rest of us.

While snow, surprise, and the ideal man may have made for the perfect New Year's Eve kiss in Bridget Jones's Diary, it is not necessary for the rest of us. Rowan Pelling, the former editor of the Erotic Review, says the secret to a good kiss is to treat it like dancing and follow the man's lead.

So how is that done? She calls it responding "elegantly to their subtlest directions." This is good enough advice if your partner knows what he's doing, but that's not always — or even often — the case. One woman's bad kisser is another's favorite, though, so don't write it off immediately. If it's still all wrong, I'd say back off and start again. With you in control, he may come around, because there are only two universal kissing no-nos: bad breath and too aggressive, too soon.

What makes your kiss perfect?

Sunday Confessional: I Semi Cheated

I met a guy that I really liked before Christmas.

I met a guy that I really liked before Christmas. It's been a while since I've felt a connection with someone, but I wasn't sure if he felt the same way. He went home to visit family for the holidays and I didn't hear from him for over a week, and I had no clue when he was coming home.

Since we hadn't had "the talk," I wasn't sure what the "rules" were while he was away — would it be considered cheating if I went out with someone else? Was he seeing other people back home? etc. There was no one else I was interested in, but on New Year's Eve, I ran into an ex-fling and we ended up ringing in the New Year together, so to speak.

The next morning when I checked my phone, the guy I was seeing had texted me, wishing me a happy New Year, telling me how much he missed me, and that he would be back that day to "see his girl that he told his entire family about." I was so happy to read his text, but I immediately felt guilty about being with someone else while he waited for me. I don't plan on telling him about my NYE affair, but can I be forgiven for keeping a secret from him in the beginning of our relationship?
