What Do You Think of Men Who Wax?

We're excited to present this article from Allure!

I can't say I was surprised to see Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino get his eyebrows waxed last week on Jersey Shore. There he was at the barber shop, getting a wax that wasn't just about removing the strays between his brows; he was getting a full-on, arch-defining brow wax.

Personally, I couldn't deal with dating a man who waxed his eyebrows—too high-maintenance. And, at least according to the results of a new Allure poll, I'm not alone. Though we don't have specific stats on eyebrow waxing, 38 percent of women in the poll said they either don't care or don't like it when a man grooms his pubic hair. And on the subject of back hair? An overwhelming 66 percent of women said to leave it be.

What do you think? Are you fine with a guy's fur? Or do you demand some male grooming?

Do You Groom Your Dude?

Women today feel the pressure, or preference, to rid themselves of body hair, and now society has paid men back by increasingly expecting them to do the same.

Women today feel the pressure, or preference, to rid themselves of body hair, and now society has paid men back by increasingly expecting them to do the same. "As hairless torsos have become the norm for male models and actors" explains the New York Times, "below-the-neck hair removal has gone mainstream."

Unfortunately the paper discovered that the task of male shearing often falls on the woman. After all, it's pretty hard to reach the middle of your back. Luckily, Remington shaver makers have invented a telescopic handle that will help men with unwilling partners, or no partner at all, shave those hard-to-reach places.

It's one thing to cut the hair on a friend's head, but have you ever helped your man manscape?

How Manscaped Do You Like Your Men?

A fascinating New York Times article charts the history of manscaping — the practice by men of removing hair from their chests, back, armpits or groin area.

A fascinating New York Times article charts the history of manscaping — the practice by men of removing hair from their chests, back, armpits or groin area. It used to be the province of male models, athletes, and homosexuals. No longer. If you look at the mass marketing of body razors (watch the commercial below for Braun bodycruZer razor "with a special attachment for sensitive areas"), you can see that every Tom, Dick and Hairy is supposed to manscape whether or not he's an athletic, gay, male model.

One survey of 364 male students at the University of South Florida on the subject of "male body depilation" found that more than 80 percent of them depilated. (I don't think I've ever used that as a verb.) The most interesting factoid? The graduate student who is conducting the survey said that there was no statistically significant difference between the number of gay men versus straight men who manscaped. How times have changed! I'm telling you, men are the new women.

Products That Make Men Like Women

Karl Lagerfeld made a prediction years ago that men would be the new women. What he meant by that, in part, is that they, too, will be as worried as women about their looks. Metrosexuality is mainstream now, what with men manscaping, flat ironing, and guy-lining their way into the looks-obsessed world we women have inhabited forever. Here are products that make The Kaiser's prediction even more uncanny.

What Manscaping Says About Your Man

According to Cosmo, how a guy grooms himself below the belt can actually say a lot about what kind of boyfriend or lover he'll be.

According to Cosmo, how a guy grooms himself below the belt can actually say a lot about what kind of boyfriend or lover he'll be. I'm not sure I agree with everything they say, but here's a brief rundown of what his manscaping means.
