From rose gold to neon, pink hair is having a moment. But the color is no longer for punk rockers and rebellious teenagers (oh, Willow Smith). Pink has become a sophisticated way to add color to a formal look. Brooklyn Decker recently added hot pink pieces to her tousled updo at the Battleship premiere in South Korea, while January Jones's peekaboo panel of rose gold fades easily into her blond strands. Then there is Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson, who chose to dip-dye her bob for a day at the beach. And even Joan Rivers has tried the trend, further proving that age is just a number.

In the past we have seen pink hair on other Hollywood superstars like Rachel McAdams, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Dianna Agron, Sienna Miller, and Carrie Underwood. So it's clear that when the starlets aren't brave enough to try blue, pink is the next best thing.

During a recent WE TV press event, Melissa Rivers spoke up about her mother Joan's numerous plastic surgeries. "In my opinion, it's, like, enough," Melissa said. "Stop it. It is a source of conflict, it really is. It bothers me." Mama Rivers, who has admitted to more than a dozen plastic surgeries, sees no problem with going under the knife (as she discussed in last year's documentary about her).

While we know that Joan and Melissa's plastic surgery clash is an extreme case, it's true that plenty of mothers and daughters have different ideas about beauty. In fact, it's such a big topic that Georgetown University linguistics professor Deborah Tannen wrote a book in 2006 devoted to the subject.

We might not have to tackle greater issues like cosmetic surgery addiction, even the small questions like, "Am I wearing too much makeup?," can turn into a battle. For me, the source of conflict sometimes revolved around my hair. When I went through a phase of religiously ironing my wavy hair, my mother kept telling me that my natural look was prettier and had more volume. Now that I look back at it, she was right...but the teenage version of me would never have admitted it.

— Joan Rivers in a letter she wrote on behalf of PETA supporting two animal-related bills to City Council President Christine Quinn, who not coincidentally is openly gay. Let's hope Quinn has a sense of humor!

It's probably not a huge surprise, but Joan Rivers's roast on Comedy Central last weekend "drew 2.8 million viewers, 32% fewer than for the previous one on the cabler." I know I didn't tune in for that one. Did you?

I did, however, greatly enjoy the Comedy Central roasts of Denis Leary and Bob Saget, and obviously the success of these things depends on how interested audiences are in seeing a particular celebrity be teased and insulted over and over again. There wasn't a ton of interest in Joan Rivers, apparently. So who should get roasted on Comedy Central?

Kathy Griffin was the roastmaster for Rivers's show, and I think sometime down the line, she herself would make a good roastee. I also think Steve Martin might make for a funny roast, and I'd like to see Jeremy Piven up there someday mostly because, well, he deserves it. Who do you want to see get roasted?
