Marc Jacobs certainly knows how to put on a show. For Spring 2012, the designer kicked off the evening with a striking Bob Fosse-inspired tableau; from there, each model got up one by one to walk the runway. But the theatrics weren’t the only thrilling part; continuing on his theme of experimenting with new materials, Jacobs offered retro glam silhouettes in new and modern fabrics. The airy, cellophane-esque dressses, glassy fringed frocks, and cropped coats were our favorites, but check out the whole collection now to see what strikes your fancy!
A Monday Musical Interlude!
Set the choreography of Bob Fosse to Unk's "Walk It Out," and you got a perfect match.
Set the choreography of Bob Fosse to Unk's "Walk It Out," and you got a perfect match. Who knew? Now if only I could say the same about the brightly colored, polyester pantsuits these women are thrusting about in. And I kept waiting for them to "fly it out" with the serious sleeves they're sporting, but that would've ended all the fun too soon-- so flap on ladies, flap on! (Thanks, This Just In...!)
