Your Partner Cheats: Do You Want to Know or Not?

It's (unofficially) cheating week on TrèsSugar! You have weighed in on a Christian woman's confession that she cheated on her husband, and you've revealed whether or not you have ever cheated.

Everyone has an opinion on whether or not, if you cheated, you should tell your significant other or spare him and keep it to yourself. But I wonder if you'd want to know if your partner cheated on you. Is it important for you to know so you can decide whether or not to forgive, or is ignorance bliss?

I'd want to know. Cheating is a 99% of the time deal breaker for me, but if the situation didn't look like something that could happen again AND my guy told me about it, then I might consider just giving him a strike.And if my friends found out, I'd want them to tell me straight away before I wasted more of my life with someone it wasn't going to work out with.

I'd want to know if he cheated, why, how far and with whom before I did anything. Some things I could forgive (for example someone kissing him) but some things I don't think I ever could.

I would want to know because if it meant something than I shouldn't be with that person, if it didn't mean something than MAYBE my significant other could prove that to me and one day earn my trust back, and I would ESPECIALLY want to know if I was the only one in the dark. The worst situations are those when someone in a relationship is cheating or has cheated and everyone around them knows except the spouse but no one feels it is "their job" to tell the person - they end up looking like a fool and that is not fair.

I can't believe that 39 people DON'T want to know. I would want to know everything that he's doing. When your other half cheats on you then he is doing more than breaking your heart, he could be passing you a disease.

I want to know. And as tough as it will be, I'd be divorcing my hub if this happened. Another thing is it is important to know in manner of health, we don't know what kind of STI your cheating spouse can bring into your life (beside the emotional matter).

Cheating really hurts and it would be hard to go through, but I wouldn't want my love to be a lie. Trust is a huge thing for me. If someone cheats and then keeps it from me that's not the type of character I want in my life.

I'd want to know.. in a normal give and take relationship a cheating spouse isn't a slur on your character. It was their choice to cheat, and as hard as it would be at first, i want to know so i can walk away, immediately. There's no reason to blame yourself for their lack of respect and unfaithfulness.
