Are You Into Sex by Candlelight?

I know that all women should swoon when their partner lights some candles to try and set the mood, but since I'm a fan of total darkness, I think sex by candlelight is a little too much. It's actually kind of a distraction for me, because I find myself worrying that some candle will get knocked over and start a major fire. Talk about a mood killer.

So what do you think? Does making love with the flickering of candles stir romance and passion for you? Does it turn you on or are you just not into it?

I dunno about that... taking the time to set the mood and light candles and all that jazz just seems like you're preparing too much for the actual moment... I like spontaneity... I don't want to build it up by creating a super dramatic scene lol

I'm also a fan of total darkness bein not completely proud of my current bod. It's a new years resolution to lighten up. I say candlelight is definitely the most flattering.

it's terribly sexy. my guy and i usually have sex with the lights on. it's nice to have softer lighting. when we set up candles (whether it is him or i) we always go overboard. at first i worry that one of the kitties will catch fire (imagine having a little fireball running around?) or us burning the house down...but, i eventually start focusing on my partner and our amazing relationship.

Haha,I have a funny story: It was Valentines a few years ago and my hubby and I set up candles. We were getting at it and we smelled something burning and we looked up and our extremely fluffy cat singed the end of her tail! It was just too hilarious! She was fine, by the way and my husband and I had a good laugh. If we ever do the candle thing again, no animals will be allowed in the room! lol

I don't mind it, but I don't go setting up candles before being intimate either.

I love it...my hubby likes the lights on (being the typical visual man) but I think it's more romantic in the dark, so it's a great compromise!

Yes! As long as the candles are away from the bed, and there's not too many of them...

Maybe it's because I'm super comfortable with my man and he really does make me feel completely not self conscious, but any kind of light is fine. Candlelight is great... Moonlight's even better. :-) Not to mention, candle light is probably one of the most flattering sources of illumination (felt like I said light one too many times in this post).

I light a candle once in awhile, just keep it on a nightstand where there is no chance of it getting knocked over. Also, I always have candles that are contained in votives. As far as mood lighting, I like to mix it up. Some nights do it in pitch black but other times do it with sun pouring in the windows. That way each of your senses gets a turn.
