Woody Allen's Muses

Penelope Cruz won an Oscar for her work as an unstable beauty who winds up in a love triangle with Javier Bardem and Scarlett Johansson's characters in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. In To Rome With Love, Penelope plays a prostitute, Anna, who charms a virginal young Italian man as well as high-powered businessmen. Although she's denied that she's a "muse" of the director, we can't imagine anyone else oozing the sultry sex appeal of the character better than Penelope; the part seems made for her. She may be known for her prolific work with Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, but she's also on a roll with Woody.
