Women Voting on Election Day 2012 | Instagram

Nearly 100 years ago, suffragettes fought for women's right to vote, and today, we're doing just that. Today's the 2012 presidential election, and it's a big one for women in the US with women's issues in the balance. According to Facebook's real-time voting app, female voters outnumber male voters (at least in terms of Facebook activity) by nearly double — 4.6 million compared to 2.3 million. And in 2008's presidential election, a higher percentage of women voted than men. No matter who wins tonight, we're proud of our fellow ladies who voted — so check them out now!
