Why Is It So Exciting to Know?

I'm sure you've all heard the rumors swirling around Ashlee Simpson's pregnancy, but the is she or isn't she debate is getting to be a bit much. Some people view pregnancy as a very private matter, or at least within the first three months so I feel for her if she really is pregnant — maybe she's just not ready to announce it to the world! I understand the constant curiosity in regards to celebrity, but ladies, let me ask you this: Why is it so exciting to know if someones expecting?

Yep I hate the assumption of "she's pregnant" when someoene gets engaged. How crass. I also hate that peoples bedroom habits have become everyday topics, nothing is sacred anymore.

I'm so sick of the speculation that as soon as someone gets engaged it's because she's pregnant. I think if Hollywood would have babies without the engagement ring a little more often (it's not as common as it seems) than we wouldn't have to do this every time. I don't believe you have to be married or even engaged before having a baby especially if it was an accident and you're only doing it because of that.

I couldn't care less. Especially about Ashlee Simpson. That girl has gotten around almost as much as Lindsay Lohan. Why do I care if she's engaged, pregnant or releasing a new perfume???

I love babies, so I'm always excited about pregnancies, regardless if it's a celebrity. But I think the real excitement is just that unplanned pregnancies have made for great gossip and scandal since the beginning of time. If we were living 500 years ago and we heard Ashlee Simpson was getting married, we'd all be speculating that she was pregnant. I think it's also so interesting with her because of her father's values, that Jessica supposedly saved herself for marriage, etc.

Because she is denying it! And celebs deny it all the time, even if they are prego. That is why we want to know. And the more she dances around the idea, the more we want to know. YES OR NO?

i think people get excited because recently personal lives of actors, musicians, etc. have become so entertaining for people. personally, i think pregnancy (in general) is exciting. i'm not on the edge of my seat wondering if Ashlee Simpson is pregnant, but if it is revealed she is in nine months or so i'll be looking for the baby pictures :)

she wants attention. she didn't feel the need to keep her engagement private, and when that failed to get much attention she went with plan b and decided to milk the pregnancy rumors for all its worth. which is just making her look like an even bigger attention wh0re.

Again, was I not mistaken when the news of her pregnancy was on the cover of People last week?? Did anyone else see that? There was a time when People was a pretty respectable publication, but if they are stooping to the level of celebrity hearsay, then I have lost a great deal of that respect.

well when it's a real celeb that has said she wants a baby and has been hoping for one for a long time and comes off as a nice person you are happy for them and their good news. it's what they wanted; yea! with this one the pregnancy was a pretty obvious accident and she's the wanna-be-hanger-on of a b-lister-sister mostly famous for fakes (lip syncing, boobs, nose) so it's not exciting just really annoying.

I could not care less about Ashlee Simpson and her personal affairs. I suspect that no one else really cares either, but the media has to try to generate excitement out of something ("Panda Watch, Day 5")in order to make themselves feel relevant and sell magazines. I do hate how she spells her name though.
