Who's Watching the Florida Debate With Me Tonight?

It's Boca Baby! I'm gearing up for the MSNBC Florida debate tonight, it's on at 9 p.m. EST. Now that we've seen almost three dozen of these debates (give or take) I'm on a mission — I'm watching for the candidates to say things that surprise me. I'm on a hunt for new info. Who's with me? In other news, Dennis Kucinich has ended his bid for the White House this afternoon.

I'll try to watch but my stomach is a bit sensitive so I don't know how much I will be able to take. I see no viable candidate in this lineup.

I think it's sad that they used Kucinich seeing a UFO to discredit him. A UFO is an unidentified flying object and is not directly related to alien life forms. Poor guy, he had some great views. Michelin, I agree with you. Dr. Paul has the best understanding and is probably the only person who could help fix the economic crisis that our country is experiencing and they never give him equal time during debates.

Everything went downhill for Kucinich once he claimed he saw the UFO and was endorsed by Sean Penn.

I was disappointed that they gave so little time to Dr. Paul. He is the only person who backs up his ideas with facts and real solutions to our problems. He also has the greatest understanding of economics, and has written several books on the subject. I almost felt bad for McCain when Paul asked him that question and he had no idea how to answer it... almost.

My initial reaction was that Romney won. But, really, it was pretty balanced. I think most people gave good answers, minus McCain not being able to answer Ron Paul's question.

I personally am not the biggest supporter of McCain for Pres., but I do feel like that ticket could win. I was just talking to a friend of mine today who thinks that Romney would actually be good for the economy. Like I said, I don't know enough about him at all. What about his record would make him bad in that respect?

I really don't want a McCain/Giuliani ticket. Did Romney win in anyone else's opinion? Fiscally, I'd be terrified if he got into the White House. His record scares me.

Huckabee was really funny tonight. Plus, he did have some great answers. McCain/Giuliani? That would be a hard ticket to beat!

Well, compared with the Democrats the other night, this seemed like a polite tea party. So, was there a winner? Did Mitt get an extra chance to give long "presidential sounding" answers? Were there any surprises?

Oh yeah, Huckabee smothers it on very well. at McCain being to old, oh come on, he's not that old. Given, Ron Paul is the same age and he's in better physical shape than both of my parents who are in their 40's.

I hated that he asked THREE times about the money! Mitt wasn't really my favorite either, but he's grown on me just a little tonight. Truthfully, I don't know enough about him to have a solid opinion on him.

Oh, I don't believe McCain, his record does not stand up to what he's saying. And did Romney say he raised more money than any other presidential candidate? I know that's not true. I don't think he's qualified to be president and not because of his religion- I'm from Utah after all. tiff58, the eyeball rolling and weird face thing was in the last couple debates I watched. I think that's distasteful and inconsiderate of the other candidates, especially when they do the split screen.

I love that take on it, especially when so much of the news focuses on courting the vote of the very socially conservative. I cannot wait to see the outcome of this contest on Tuesday.

I do like someone that doesn't always vote along party lines, so I think that's a strong point for anyone. It's one of the reasons that I like Rudy- he's his own man. I admire the same quality in Ron Paul. The thing about conservatives getting behind McCain- I think it will be hard for a lot of strict conservatives to get behind McCain when he goes against some of their core values, one being that he's not always for small government. It's my impression (maybe b/c it's my opinion) that most conservatives are more comfortable with voting for someone that's socially liberal (Rudy) than someone who is for bigger gov't like McCain.

Do you think McCain's "putting his country above his party" is a line that will help him? Can conservatives get behind his case-by-case theory of government? I have to say, I like the idea that he thinks about each issue on it's own merit. Thinking is good...
