Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John McCain, Sarah Palin, and Hillary Clinton may have monopolized the front-page news this year because of the campaign, but there's a pack of breakout newsmakers outside the White House hopeful lineup like Joe the Plumber, Eliot Spitzer, and Michael Phelps. Generating end-of-the-year heat is Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich, who is accused of trying to sell Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat.

I can't imagine who will win this one!
1What? No Joe Lieberman?
2friggin, DUH.
3Blagojevich...cause of his AWESOME hair!
4I am less than 100 points away from Diamond! Can you feel the excitment?
:an egyptian:
5Go Jill!
6Why hasn't Dolphin Boy gone away yet?
7Spitzer scares me..looks like a goblin!
8michael phelps looks horrible in every picture... neck down, right?
anyway, i voted for him. to be honest i'm kinda sick of all those other cats, yes, including obama. political fatigue, i believe thats what they call it.
9Paper bag him. It'll be fine.
10Oh my!
11Barack Obama, of course. Sarah Palin is a close second.
12Hey hey I happen to be a huge fan of dolphin boy, all the way back to his first Olympics.
I think I'm going to pick Palin, she terrified me, she made me laugh, when I realized she wasn't go to be VP I felt a rush of exhilaration and happiness and her legs weren't half bad either. Palin, in retrospect, was like a very entertaining movie.
13Hillary
14ugh! that joe the plumber guy gets on my nerves!!
i'll go with gov. blagojevich because it's been entertaining to hear all the new details. if it weren't real, it'd be a great story.
15I hate hearing about Joe the Plumber. Couldn't get enough news on Barack Obama though. He's my favorite by far.
16Sorry, Jessie
Does it help that I agree with your
description of Palin?
17Joe the Plumber is a pretty smart guy. He certainly did quite a bit to expose Obama's wealth redistribution plan (which for some inexplicable reason isn't socialism).
18hillary!!
19O-kay Jude, I guess I can forgive your Phelps indiscretion
.
20Governor Blago is one heck of a story.
21I'll give my vote to Sarah Palin purely for her adding a little pizazz and spunk to this year's election race. Of course, Pres-Elect Obama and my girl Hilary are up there, too, but something about the hockey mom compelled me to vote for her.
