I've been sorely missing a West Wing-style TV event to follow for oh, so long now — but it looks like my wait might be over! HBO (which I'm ordering immediately) is gearing up for a seven-part John Adams mini-series extravaganza. It starts March 25th, starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney.

The trailer says it all — "I don't think anyone who sees this film will ever think the same way about the American Revolution again." I'm hooked-capital-H already. What do you say? Who wants to watch and obsess about it with me?

Well, it's staring on my birthday, so it better be good.
1they will probably just switch history to make it more P.C. So I don't know if I will have the patience to watch it.
2I don't know, it's based on the John Adams book--and looks really gritty. Maybe give it a shot? I'd love to hear your opinions if you think it has been toned down!
3Hi Citizen,
Do you know who wrote the book or which book it is on John Adams?
4I hear they changed the ending from the book and he wins a second term.
5I'm really excited to watch this actually.
6Never-mind, I found it. Thanks.
7I'll watch anything with people in historical garb. I was addicted to Rome, which HBO cancelled, so I'm hoping that this will be just as good. Plus, I think Sarah Polley is the best.
8Rome rocked!!!
I will probably watch it. I just hope they remain accurate.
9As long as it follows the book, I don't see a problem. I so often find myself peeved by these sorts of shows, because they update it to make it 'more interesting' to modern viewers, or rearrange the story for the same reason.
10I suppose we shall see, but I don't have high expectations.
I doubt anything could ever compare to 'The West Wing' in my eyes. (The first few seasons anyway.) Sigh.
I'll still try to catch an episode soon. I'm into historical dramas too.
11This look so good!!
12Now that The Wire is ending I can't wait to get a new obsession! HBO, yay!
13Well, for the benefit of everyone here interested in seeing it:
I will not watch this until after it airs completely, as it seems every time I start to watch something on HBO, I get very into it and then they cancel it.
14I always wait untill I can see the whole season too. I can't deal with the wait.
15I can't wait!
16he's a relative so i'm very excited.
17I am down!
18Sounds interesting!
19Aw MAN! I would soooo love to watch this, but I don't get HBO. Sadness. Ever since I read David McCullough's biography on John Adams, I've been a huge fan of the second president. Such a challenging and rich life he lead! Let us know how it is, Citizen!
20I don't get HBO but maybe they will stick it On Demand like they did In Treatment.
