Which SATC Character Do You Identify With?

It's clear that after six TV seasons and two movies, the Sex and the City characters are more like caricatures. Even so, their exaggerated personality traits might make it easier to choose which of the gang we most relate to. Is it serious Miranda, proper Charlotte, sassy Samantha, or single girl at heart Carrie? Back in the day when the show was popular (and good), my friends and I would try to match ourselves to the girls. So as we catch up with the crew one more time, I want to know: which character are you most like?

I'm a Miranda/Samantha combo.

Definitely Carrie. (I'm actually surprised more people didn't choose her.) I often find Carrie's choices infuriating while watching the show, and I realize it's usually because I've done something extremely similar in the past or I know I would do something similar in the same situation. Our personalities are just shockingly similar (the good and the bad). And I swear, other people have told me this, too, so it's not just me! On a side note, I had a friend who always talked about how she was so much like Carrie, but was actually completely like Charlotte. And, I completely agree with the earlier comments stating that, while a lot of people are a lot like Miranda, for some odd reason, no one wants to admit it. I wish I could be more direct and practical like Miranda is!

Mostly Charlotte and Carrie. I feel free-spirited like Carrie but I'm a die-hard romantic like Charlotte

I have a little Charlotte & Miranda. But Carrie's the most similar to me. She doesn't want children, neither do I. She's not traditional about relationships & marriage. Neither am I. She's a writer. I love to write. She's very self centered & analytical, so am I. She has some quirky style choices. While I'm not as adventurous as she is I like quirky things as well. She values her independence, which is very important to me. And she loves her friends like family.

I identify with Miranda most of the time, but I was raised to be more 'proper' like Charlotte so I can see where she's coming from and she reminds me of my more 'innocent' (naive) days. Kind of a mixture of both. But there's no way I'm wearing a vintage Valentino while playing with kids. No designer duds ever when you're handling kids..unless you're ready to not wear them ever again LOL.

Miranda, definitely. I'm a little more girly and unfortunately not so direct, but my views almost always coincided with hers.

I'm shocked that so many others chose Charlotte. She's the biggest prude on the show and she associates with people who are so vastly different ferom her. That's me in a nutshell.

MIranda, definitely. She isn't afraid to speak her mind when she thinks something is ridiculous, or if she thinks one of her friends is making a big mistake, even if her friends get pissed at her. I actually think she and Samantha are alot alike in how they view the world. She has her vulnerable side too, though, and actually is very loyal and protective of her friends. When she had her baby and was trying to balance her job with that, her life was completely out of control, and it was interesting to watch her deal with it.

I liked that about them, too. Charlotte was sensible and thought things through, but she didn't overthink things the way that Carrie did. What I really liked was her naivety and innocence. Sure, she'd had her heart broken like all the girls, but she didn't let that get her down. She was always positive that the right man was out there for her. I guess that's why I most identify with her, because I have snobbishly high standards when it comes to guys, and I feel like our personalities are similar. (ie, very happy, cheerful, a little melodramatic when necessary.) Miranda was a bit more cynical than her, but that's what balanced the group out. Someone had to step back and say, "That's romantic, but slightly creepy," "That's not sexy, that's weird," etc. I was just watching the show today and laughed at a Miranda-Charlotte scene where Miranda was getting her butt licked and thought it was disgusting but Charlotte was all for it and Miranda was shocked.

^^ Yeah, but she could be an unfair b!tch too. I liked Charlotte's sensibilities, but appreciates Miranda's drive to speak her truth.

I don't mind partly identifying with Miranda at all. She had her moments, but for the most part she was much more level headed and less prone to ridiculous overanalysis than the others (esp. Carrie).

Studio16, I have noticed that as well! Mostly with Miranda. I remember in high school, some girls called her "MirMANda". I always thought that was such a dumb thing to say. I bet way more girls identify with Miranda than they're willing to admit. Oh, the shame of being a career-minded woman.

I think that's part of the show's appeal--we can identify with all of them or at least parts of them. I would say I'm ~50% Miranda, 20% Carrie, 20% Charlotte and 10% Samantha on most days :)

I can't vote, simply because I feel like I'm a combination of the four. I'd say I'm about 50% Charlotte, 30% Carrie, 10% Miranda and 10% Samantha. I don't think it's that easy to match yourself up to a personality. I was thinking about this last night though, when I was watching the actual show: So many women claim to identify with Charlotte or Carrie and no one wants to be Miranda or Samantha. I'll bet more women identify with the latter two, but don't want to admit it because they weren't as popular as Carrie and Charlotte.

Well, definitely not Carrie, who has always annoyed me. Not Samantha, because as much as I'd like to be that uninhibited, I'm not. I'd have to say a combo of Charlotte and Miranda.

I said Charlotte, because to me she is one of the most innocent, and she has always a good smile and a good mood (for what i saw in SATC 1 - the movie)
