When It Comes to Family, Who Are You Closest to?

Of course, I love everyone in my family. Each person has a special place in my heart, and my mind is filled with so many memories of all of them. I love them for what they've taught me, how they've been there for me, and what we've shared together.

That being said, there's one person I call the most and tell my secrets to, and that's my mom. Yes, she's my mom, but now that I'm older, she's also turned into my best friend. I feel the closest to her because she's such an amazing listener and, as women, we have so much in common.

So I want to know: When it comes to your family, who do you feel closest to? Your mom, dad, child, or spouse? A step-parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or sibling?

my brother. he's a year younger than me and we've always been very close. we give each other a lot of advice and although we don't share anything weirdly-personal, i consider him my best friend (in the family).

I used to trust my mother with things, but after repeated betrayals (including one embarrassing mass email about me) I no longer can trust her. I give her just enough to think she's in the loop, but I'm still so hurt years later that I can't tell her much. I definitely feel closest to my man, though, and can tell him most anything. Just can't grumble about his faults to him. :P

momma-I can talk to her about anyhing and we just enjoy each others company. i love seeing what qualites of hers that she passed on to me, we notice it most when we spend time together (or when im duking it out with the bf-even he's noticed im feisty like my mom!).

I am a momma's girl through and through. We used to fight all the time when I was younger, but I think that was only because we are so much a like. Every time I look at her I see so much of myself, and I know that all the best qualities I have I got from her. She is insighful when I need advice, tough when I need someone to push me, and supportive of me always. Everything a mom should be.

My dad and step-mom are the people I can tell anything to and who I can have a comprehensive, well-articulated talks with. I wish I could say my mom, but since I have gotten older, we have drifted because we are so different. But I am glad that she is still there when I need her and vice versa.
