Do You Celebrate Your "Mensiversary"?

Even if you've never heard the word mensiversary, you're probably familiar with the concept. Combining the Latin words for month, "mensis," and turning, "versary," a mensiversary is the 30-day version of an anniversary.

I added the word to my vocabulary recently when a friend told me how she and her boyfriend celebrate each month spent together, explaining: "We mostly just say 'Happy Mensiversary!' and go grab dinner somewhere."

Even if it's as simple as that, do you mark the beginning of your relationship each month?

i do it most of the time.. if we are free and make a date and happens to be our "monthaversary" (thats how my friends and i call it) it would do.. but its not a big deal not like something fancy or anything.. its just fun like wow! 30 months! yay!

Only during the first year. "Monthiversary," not mensi. That sounds disgusting.

LOL. I thought it was about menstrual periods, too. Incidentally, I do celebrate when my period arrives. We're married, and we don't want children. We do use birth control, of course, but no birth control is 100% effective. So every month, I'm watchful for my period. When it arrives, it's good news. :)

My husband and I did this our first year of dating, but after that? Why would you do that? It just seems like it would make each one less special. And I, too, thought this had something to do with a period when I first saw the title.

i used to do this when i was with my high school boyfriend. aw, young love! buuut ten years later, celebrating every monthiversary with boyfriends seems like a little much for me. i think it's a sweet sentiment, though.

ITA with TheEnchantedOne; my friends call it monthsary too. I stopped counting months after the first year but I'm not about to judge any couple who does; every one is different. Geez.

We did the first year we were together, but then we stopped. Now we just celebrate our yearly anniversaries. Our 4th is coming up in two months.

I thought it was something to do with your period too. Anyway, I don't. We don't even remember an official anniversary day, just "sometime in August-ish".

I know people who celebrate it and call it Monthsary. This is the first time I've heard of the term Mensiversary. I also thought it was about the first time you had your period when I read the title. Lol :) To be honest, I think it's silly. But I shouldn't judge those who are celebrating love. It's harmless fun, no one's getting hurt or anything like that. So I say go, celebrate your Mensiversary if that makes you happy.

No way, we barely remembered to celebrate 2 years together. We do celebrate getting my period each month! NO mistakes this month!

We recently celebrated our one year together (dating) but prior to that, each month we'd just acknowledge and say something like, "Wow, 7 months went by fast!" or however many months. Not sure if we'll mention again til it hits the year and a half mark.

Haha, I do for the first month of a new relationship. It doesn't have to be a fancy dinner or anything, but to me, the one month mark is when it feels more like a relationship than just dating.

I've been with my husband for 14 years already. I think celebrating every month is something you might do for the first year but after that it's kind of like overkill. We do celebrate our original dating anniversary as well as the day we got married, but we went through so much before getting married that the original date is much more sentimental.

Nope, lol, I'm not even sure about the official date we got together, it sort of happened over a few weeks, really. Every time someone asks me how long we've been together I just say "since last winter", hahaha, I'm not sure, nor counting.
