Salacious behavior always makes the headlines in America, and this year was no exception. After a strong, yet unsuccessful push for the Democratic nomination John Edwards, revealed what would have been his October surprise: he cheated on his cancer-stricken wife, and may have produced a love child. In other child-related scandals, only days after social conservative Sarah Palin splashed onto the national scene, we found out that her teenage daughter Bristol was pregnant.
Way back in the beginning of the year, two scandals made the headlines, one proving to be half-baked and the other leading a powerful politician's downfall. The New York Times tried to link John McCain to lobbyist Vicki Iseman, insinuating that he cheated on his wife, while New York Governor Eliot Spitzer resigned after news of his involvement with a call girl broke.
Of course, don't forget about the sex, drugs, and oil scandal that rocked the US Department of the Interior! An investigation revealed that officials “frequently consumed alcohol at (oil) industry functions, used cocaine and marijuana, and had sexual relationships with oil and gas company representatives." Since we're asking for your opinion on everything that happened this year, which 2008 scandal should be entered into the political hall of shame?

The Body Shop
The Department of Interior story didn't have the thrill of watching a specific person crash and burn, but it was the story that should been given the most attention.
1I love the NY governor scandal..I was waiting the whole time for his wife to smack him upside the head!
2I like that Perfect Hair himself was knocked down off his perfectly coifed pedestal.
3I don't really like the salacious personal stuff, but that Department of the Interior scandal was pretty entertaining.
4mommaof2, they never smack 'em, they just stand by patiently with a little smile.
5When will there be a case of infidelity on the part of an important woman? It will happen someday. Has there been one I am forgetting?
Well, Madonna, but that is not political.
None of the above.
6The call girl thing was most shocking to me.
7On another note; how come no news about Canada's coalition, Citizensugar?? Our parliament was shut down today and not even 1 article on citizensugar! This is news, I hope. It's a shame really; I went on all big news websites and they barely have any information at all. It's as if Canada is non-existant to the rest of the world.
i love canada!
8Janneth I know!
9Where are the tough ones hiding?! If that were me I'd punch him in the the face the day before the press confress and THEN stand next to him with a big smile on my face, While he's talking with a black eye!
I like the pregnancy one myself. Pregnancies have the positive spin of cute babies, so you feel less bad giggling about the situation. Cheating with prostitutes on the other hand is sad all around, think of the poor spouses who have to go get tested for STD's.
10Spitzer all the way. By, as weird as it may sound, I'm partial to all things Call Girl (just something about being paid four grand and being in control seems interesting). I blame my weird affinity to
"Secret Diary of a Call Girl" I read while on a trip to Mexico.
plus, I just thought it was funny as hell to find out he keeps his socks on. I do love a good sex scandal (But felt awful for what his family went through at the same time).
11Um, none. Maybe we could have a poll with options that don't involve who inserted their Tab A into Slot B?
I'm not sure I'd say "favorite," but the one that piqued my interest the most was the ongoing drama at the Justice Department. The report released last month-ish after the investigation of all the sketchy firings of 2006 and the filtering of job applicants based on suspicion of their liberal-ness based on things like belonging to the Sierra club. That is scandalous!
12I don't think "favorite" is a good word for this subject material. More like which political scandal of 2008 did you find more interesting or newsworthy perhaps.
In that respect of the choices listed I would vote the last one. The rest were just soap opera drama sensationalism to me.
13Spitzer. I was glad to see him go down.
14John McCain Might Have Had Affair With Lobbyist Vicki Iseman
never heard of that
Sarah Palin's Teenage Daughter Is Pregnant
i dont think any body care
