What Do You Have in Common With Your Dad?

If the greeting card industry is to be believed, dads are simple creatures who require nothing more than ties, golf, and the remote control. But of course, dads are just like the rest of us, full of complexities, quirks, and talents.

Malia Obama shares her dad's lanky frame but also his tendency toward team sports, as the pair proved this weekend when the president came to his daughter's soccer game. Some women share such common aptitudes with their fathers that they go into the same professions, while others have little more than a last name in common. In honor of Father's Day on Sunday, tell us: how are you most like your dad?

My dad and I are both complete and total nerds =]Also, sidenote, when did Malia get that tall?! Mr. O is at least 6'0 tall, and she's catching up with him.

I look a lot like my dad and I have some of his personality trails, at least what I can remember. He died when I was young, so I didn't really have the chance to really get to know him. But I know that I look a lot like him and I have his patience and his easy-going attitude. This time of year is always very hard for me because it reminds me how much I miss having him in my life.

I have his coloring, very pale with freckles. I also got his curls. But that's where it ends, thank goodness. When somebody who knows my family says how unlike my father I am, I love it. I don't really ever want to have character or personality traits in common with him.

I definitely take after my dad more than my mom. My dad and I are both into computers and technology, and we have very similar personalities, and I definitely get my sense of humor from him! :) I love my dad.

I'm a little female clone of my dad! :D We have the same face, same frame, same blue eyes and really light skin...we also have the same propensity to break bones, which sucks, and the same need for alone time.My daughter is a little female clone of HER dad, too.

I have very little in common with my dad. I'm so much like my mom while my brother is so much like our dad. I think the only thing we have in common is being on time and a great sense of direction.

My dad always brought home stray dogs when I was a kid; the desire to help animals was the first and most important trait he instilled in me. He and I also like a lot of the same music (we're going to see the Flaming Lips together :)) and share a sense of humour. We're both really chill, but have a breaking point at which whatever is in our hands gets launched across the room... I definitely got that from him!

I'm not really sure :(I guess my dad was kind of a nerd, and I have some of those nerdy tendencies. He introduced me to computers and Star Wars and Tolkien. I guess I'd also have my dad to thank for the role religion played in my life. Not so much anymore, but it was very important at the time.

My father and I are very similar--nerdy, silly, etc. Lots of similar interests--cars, old jazz, politics, history, and a love for family. He's such a good man, and I'm so glad to have him.

I'm a daddy's girl to a T. My family always makes fun of me for it. My dad and I are both fans of going anywhere, anytime. We both highly dislike touch-screen technology. We both love sweets. We both love buying gifts for other people. We can both be short-fused with our tempers. We both like playing pranks and can be mischievous (I have been told I have my dad's same trouble-making grin). My dad is pretty much my biggest inspiration. He's intense sometimes (control-freak!) and I am much more laid back, but he's amazing. I wish I was more like him, actually.

When I was a child, I was playing Nintendo, and my dad came in from a run all sweaty. I remember thinking to myself, "I'll never be that boring! It's all he ever talks about!" Now, I also have a deep passion for running, the joke was on me!
