the only thing to belive when in comes to healthcare is your bills and your doctor. Prices will go up and you will wait for services. But this would happen no matter whether we have HCR or not. And it is not a free lunch. Ask Canadians with major illnesses that have to wait in line. Some it's only a few months. Others don't have a few months. Ask a Nova Scotian how it feels to get a doctor's appointement by winning a lottery!!! These are facts, folks. If things go wrong, we'll look like Canada (and no, it's not always a great thing) Perhaps health care reform is good, but like Medicare part D it will cost a LOT of money and there will be limits for care. Heehee, thank you, cirrus :) He's a big loveable boy, 6 months old and almost 100lbs! I highly recommend them for anyone that has the time to dedicate to a powerful breed. They're protective guard dogs, but are very intelligent and respond well to the owner, so there's no unpredictable aggression.

Look Cirrus, it's true I'm feeling saucy today. There's just so much of the anonymous sniping a gal can take. Anonymous comments need to end. Back on topic, feel free to nitpick the bill to death - but the truth is you guys lost the election and we are driving the car. I sat through a whole decade of stomach-churning Bush policy, and it's not fun. Maybe it would help if you guys had some ideas, because from the outside you seem like a bunch of malcontent complainers. Health care reform is here to stay. Not even the Republican party would dare to vote against this. It will be very popular, like Medicare.

Mine isn't that bad (Grave's Disease and high blood pressure), but with my deductible, we essentially pay out of pocket for all health care costs. My family has a catastrophic plan with a 15,000 deductible. Not to mention the thousands that we shell out for my dental needs (again, no dental insurance). And, I watched in horror as this bill was passed. This 2700 page travesty is not about helping people at all. Don't get me wrong. There are a number of things that I want to take up with the insurance industry and Big Pharmaceutical Giants. For example, if I can show you good CBC panels for a period of time (1year), can I have a reduction on my insurance rates? I know I'm higher risk, but I like to think that shows I'm being more responsible. And, not every thing in the flipping world needs a pill!! Ugh!(Sorry, just 2 of my pet peeves. :)) Anyway, I find it extremely disturbing that some of the more simple solutions were ignored. Selling insurance across state lines, tort reform, etc. I'm sure you've heard all that before. But, what about being able to write off the cost of your insurance if you have to purchase it yourself? Or, being able to write off 110% or more of a donation to the Shriners, Reily Hospital, or even a humble neighborhood nonprofit clinic. The Huntsman Cancer Institute was founded by a self made "evil" rich man. (And if I understood correctly, you are treated regardless of your ability to pay. You pay what you can. Donations are solicited from individuals and corporations) I kind of like that. You get a tax break, we get more money to treat people. Everyone wins. I guess bumbling idiots have decent ideas on occasion. There are big problems in the health care industry, obviously. This is not the way to solve them. And, could we have the more eloquent SKG for this debate please. That really wasn't called for.

Postmodern--"better" healthcare? Or just healthcare for all? And spacekatgal, you are inappropriate. Disagreeing with others is not enough for you--you have to tell them to "suck it". Surely your vocabulary extends further than what you tend to exhibit. State your point and why you disagree and leave off the attacks.
