What's the Best Replacement For the Word "Douchebag"?

I keep hearing calls to retire the word "douchebag" because it's played out or overused. (Here and here, for example.) Really? So is the word "the," but we still need it! I mean, with people like Nikki Sixx and Spencer Pratt around, we have to have a word that adequately signifies a thing that's really bad for women. I plan on still using it, but if we had to, what's the best replacement for "douchebag"?

im not ready to retire douchebag. sometimes i just say douche for short. if i had to choose another work id say tool, but only if i had to!

there was an article i read over the summer i think discussing the need to find a linguistically pleasing word to replace douchebag because that is its secret power: it feels good to say even though it may be said too often. the funniest reply i saw to the posting was "twatwaffle" which is also really really fun to say. otherwise i also enjoy asshat.

The only other words I actually use to refer to someone disagreeable are 'dipshit' and 'jackass'. I did hear my boyfriend use the term 'asshat' for the first this weekend, and I thought it was hilarious, esp. coming from him.

I think douchebag is one of a kind and not over at all. "Pratt" is such a monster douchebag that he's in a category all his own. I had no idea Nikki Sixx fit into the category. Shows how long it's been since I paid attention to the Crue.
