Video of Firefighter Giving Thirsty Koala Water

This must have totally made David Tree's day. Fighting fires during Australia's devastating heat wave, David suddenly spied a disoriented, thirsty Koala. (He keeps calling her a "he," but it was only later that they discovered her sex.) She seems wary at first, but as soon as he gives her some tasty H2O, she perks up and even extends her burnt little paw. He makes a joke about how once the Koala's thirst is slaked, it will probably rip him to shreds, but I bet he was just trying to hide how absolutely touched he was. Pick up a hanky — you're going to need one.
