Turn On or Turn Off: A Man With a Dog

I’m a total animal lover, but nothing does me in quite like an adorable, floppy puppy. So when I see a man with a dog, I can’t help but find myself staring. It may be totally clichéd, but there is something completely sweet and very sexy about a man with a pup. What do you think of the man/canine combination?

i love dogs. never touched one though. but a man with a dog would be a turn off for me. because in my religion, dogs arent allowed. so i have to be turned off. lol.

No pitbulls. Pitbulls are turnoffs. I also cant date guys with cats b/c of allergies, but any other puppy- <3

Taking care and responsibility of an animal, especially the demands of a dog says a lot about the personality of the person committed to them! I think it's a total turn on.. My husband loves cats, and when we got our kitten, his face and excitement at every cute thing she did was just precious to me. He is so gentle with her, and so adoring, that I know he's going to be a great dad.. seeing that nurturing side of him taught me a lot early on in our relationship.. 3 cats and a dog later, he continues to take care of and love our growing family.

turn on, as long as he treats the animal with care. I can't stand people that buy animals, especially dogs, just because they're pretty or powerful, and then treat them like a ragdoll that should behave exactly the way the owner wants. I think that's just plane cruel to the poor animal. Better leave it alone and let somebody who really cares have it.

I don't like dogs, but I'd like a man with a dog, it's just something, it's a good turn on for me. Perhaps, 'cause his emotional side is reflected with this.

Turn on! At the very least, a man with a dog proves that he can love and care for another being.

Usually yes, depending on how the guy treats the dog. And if the guy just had one to pick up girls, or is obviously just walking one around to pick up girls, then definitely a turn off.

I have four very large dogs myself, and I consider myself very lucky that my boyfriend has 'adopted' them. His parents also have 4 big dogs so I know that living with me feels completely like home!! He is great with them and it is so nice to have someone else who cares about their well-being as much as I do.

I'm not an animalperson. My parents have pets at home and I don't mind it, but I would not have actual own pet.So I don't think it would be a problem if a man would have a dog. But it is not a turn-on. I think I would be like Carrie with Aidan's dog. Usually I don't relate that much with Carrie.

Ive always thought that you can tell how a man will treat you by how they treat their animals (and mothers :)). SO yes, its a turn on for me if they are great owners. And to the poster above, rotties and pittbulls have bad reps but it really just depends on how they are treated and trained. Sure they have genetic qualities they cant change but a dog usually only attacks when its scared, so if the owner is abusive then the dog is twitchy alot. My bf used to have a rottie and i was scared of dogs at the time, and the rottie was such a baby!! he loved to hog the bed and cuddle all the time. and i learned to looooove dogs.. i have my own now and i want another! they never fail to put a smile on my face when im having a bad day!

I'm a cat person ... I can't stand to be around dogs. I turned down living in gorgeous sublets in Manhattan because the owner had a dog.

Dogs scare me. They are one of my least favorite animals so definitely a turn off.

It's definitely a turn on! Not only do they look hot taking care of it, but you meet a lot of guys at the dog park when you have one as well, and they're usually all friendly.

I have 4 cats so...depends on if the guy likes dogs AND cats or if the dog can get along with cats.
