A Test About Pregnancy Tests

Whether it was a joyous or miserable experience, I'm sure most of you have taken a home pregnancy test before. I can't speak for you, but I can admit that I don't know much about them other than the fact that they can tell you if the condom breaking incident and your late period have anything in common. So let's test your knowledge about pregnancy tests.

100%!I've had a false positive before. It was quite possibly the most terrifying experience of my life! I took several tests after that and they all came out negative. Ended up getting my period 5 days after. WHEW!

I got 3/4. The question about the best time of day, I pretty much ignored that one. I didn't know it mattered. I have taken a few tests and was so anxious and nervous that I can't recall the time of day. Well, I had two positive tests and now have two beautiful girls.

3/4, not too bad! I am pretty anxious so i've taken quite a few tests in my past when my period is sometimes 3-4 days late. I am on the pill so for me that does not happen very often. The beginning of this year i missed my period and took a test and it was positive. I called the doctors to get a blood test and proceeded to take 4 more tests in the following days, all said i was NOT pregant. When the day came to go to the doctors they closed early because of the snow. I had to wait a whole week then to go because they are only open late 1 day a week. In total i took about 11 pregnancy test because like i said i an anxious person and i really wanted to know. I ended up not being pregnant, so that test was wrong and i ended up wasteing in total about 135 dollars on figuring this out!This situation all in all though was a good experiance because I was able to see how my boyfriend (whom i live with and have been with for 2 1/2 years at the time) reacted to the whole situation. He was actually really excited, and we already picked out names before we found out we were not pregnant.

I disagree with #1, by the time of your first missed day you are producing enough HCG to be detected, waiting a week can cause panic, high hopes, etc.

Hmm... I guess 3/4 isn't too bad considering I've never even seen a pregnancy test outside of its box :)
