Ouija boards, ghost stories, the supernatural — some people give up these interests (if they had them at all) after about 7th grade when no one's hosting slumber parties anymore.
I, on the other hand, like to think of an occult practice like Tarot card reading as way to free up my creativity.
Do I believe that when I do a Tarot reading that the divine spirit Gaia is guiding me? Literally, no. So what is it all about then? Stay tuned, and I'll tell you, but first — are you interested in Tarot cards?

I have seen some beautiful decks of tarot cards that can be appreciated purely for the artistic value! As for whether they "work"--I'm a skeptic by nature. I know there are lots of things we can't understand in the universe, but I just don't see how a deck of pretty cards can predict the future.
1My friend had a deck a few years back. We did it for fun, and often times were true. I still think its a coincidence though.
2I've never played around with tarot cards...seems like it'd be amusing tho.
3I think it's fun, like astrology. But I wouldn't base decisions on it
4I have the Golden Dawn deck. They have various methods that you can use to have a question answered.
5I had a tarot card reading several months back and it was a really lovely experience. I had a very well respected reader, and some of it was vague, but other things she was spot on about and couldn't have known.
6Yes, I don't seriously believe in any of that stuff but its fun
7I bought a set that came with a book at Barnes & Noble because it was cheap and on sale
I'm still learning to interpret them, but it's definitely just for fun. But I've thought about paying for an actual tarot reading to see how the "pros" do it...
8I think like anything mystical or spiritual, it's really just a starting off place for you to think about your situation and get a handle on things. You're supposed to consult tarot cards when you're in crisis or have a pressing question, not just "for fun". It's a way to get you looking for open doors and ways to resolve the situation... tarot cards just give you a way to think about the situation differently, which is usually all you need in a crisis.
9I used some myself. I could give you a reading for "FUN" if you are interested... haha.. j/k
10Not interested at all, and don't believe in it at all.
11my mom is retired from reading cards my mom was really good or should i say she had a large grup of ppl that came to see her me i dont get it most of the time they r like any person u talk to advice
12I'm definitely interested, though skeptical. I think even astrology is probably more accurate!!
13Um...why wouldn't a person just pray and ask God for the answers to questions instead of playing around with cards?
14Oh brother.
15Indeed, 1apple, indeed.
I own a very pretty deck (the Vertigo one) but I need to buy a cheap Marseille one for "everyday" readings. I'm still learning but I like it very much.
16I love the game, only the game not those things about the fortune teller
17I would kindly listen to a reading but I would not believe in it at all of course. And yes, most children do seem interested in this kinds of things, but the older you get the smarter you get, so you don't pay attention to this type of stuff anymore.
18I agree with the first poster about sometimes you can purchase a deck simply because they have beautiful art. I do read my own decks for years and have had people come to me for readings, but I turn away those that are just too obessive about "needing" to know whats going to happen. Thats just bad enegry.
19*energy
and thats bad spelling,lol.
20I used to have a deck but I believe it opens up a door that most people are not equipped to deal with. There are some truly beautiful decks though.
21I have a confession to make...
I used to do tarot card readings and there are many psychological tricks that a reader uses when performing ... such as coldreading, asking leading questions and using general statements. It really is quite easy to get somebody to tell you their life story and then make up a bunch of stuff after it.
Don't take it as gospel, there aren't any genuine people involved in doing these readings.
22Ha — sparklestar. Shame on you!
23Shame on me indeed!
I never gave out medical advice or told anybody some bad news for the sake of it. Some tarot readers will throw in things like "you should get your knee checked out" (because lets face it, who doesn't have knee problems) and there are little features on the face that can give away medical conditions.
It is a highly practiced art but there is nothing paranormal about it.
24I'm a little curious but it's not something I would seek out.
