Talking to your mom about sex can be hard enough. Though an open relationship and sex-positive mom can make all the difference, it's an inevitably squeamish topic to broach. And if there's one thing more private than sex, it's masturbation. Yet I know people who've dished with their moms, albeit, with mixed results.

Masturbation seems a lot like reading a book to me — you just pick one and try to get into it. What's a girl looking for from mom? Recommendations!

Both my parents were naturists. Bodies were normal and we would discuss ex but masturbation talk was confined to discussions with my sister.

We talk about sex. Alot. But never masturbation. She has made it very clear that she does NOT do it, and thinks that it's gross, nasty, etc. I don't need her judging that aspect of me, so we just don't bring it up.

Haha I remember I went with one of my best friends Alexis when we were 19 to buy her first (toy) she was so nervous. I did and it was fine. I talked to her about it because I knew she wasn't getting any and I believe no girl should be without her orgasm and suggested a toy. It was a bit funny and embarrassing but ultimately the perfect thing. It also had a chain reaction cause my mom then talked to my grandma about it since grandpa had died a while back. It's just the human body. Nothing to be ashamed of.
