Stephen Colbert Reenacts Real Housewives' Fight

Stephen Colbert hosted his show from Washington DC last night, and got us excited for the premiere of The Real Housewives of DC with Andy Cohen, Bravo's vice president of production and programming. As he sipped a cocktail, Andy talked about the White House party crashers, who are cast members of The Real Housewives of DC.

Bravo was taping Tareq and Michaela Salahi when they crashed Obama's state dinner (the first time), and the event will play out in the eyes of the other housewives. But all these details were mere preparation for the interview's highlight: Andy and Stephen reenacting a fight between Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon from RHNY.

Why Stephen Colbert Is My Hero

There are so many reasons to love Stephen Colbert, but he just stole my heart again.

There are so many reasons to love Stephen Colbert, but he just stole my heart again. Upon learning the US Speed Skating team had lost their sponsor — a banking firm that went belly up in the financial meltdown — Colbert rallied his fans to donate the necessary $300,000 to the team using his TV show, The Colbert Report, as a fundraising platform and to simultaneously cheerlead the less popular Winter Olympic Games.

When interviewing short track skater and medal contender Katherine Reutter, NPR explains how Colbert poetically highlighted the differences between the Summer and Winter games:

"Let's trash talk the Summer Games for just a second." Colbert ripped into Summer Olympics swimming sensation Michael Phelps. "How easy is it to swim through water?" Colbert asked. Turning to Reutter, he added. "You run on top of water with samurai swords strapped to your feet."

The US speed skating team will even wear a badge reading Colbert Nation on their "billboard thighs." Stephen's influence on the sports and fitness world reaches far, wide, and high — last Spring NASA named its treadmill used in space COLBERT, an acronym for Combined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance Treadmill. And don't be thinking that lotus position in the photo above has been photoshopped; over at Yoga Dork, Colbert tied with Matthew McConaughey for sexiest male celebriyogi of 2009.

Techspotting at the 2010 Grammys

If you tuned into the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards last night, you might have found that tech made quite the cameo before, and during the broadcast.

If you tuned into the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards last night, you might have found that tech made quite the cameo before, and during the broadcast. Apparently, Pee-wee wasn't the only one that got his hands on the new Apple iPad before it hit stores, as funnyman Stephen Colbert brought his along to the show! Stephen whipped out his iPad during his hosting gig, asking his daughter if having one made him cool (she could only shrug), but kept it under wraps when he hit the stage a second time to accept his award for Best Comedy Album.

Earlier in the day, Ryan Seacrest was seen turning the tables and filming the red carpet from his point of view with a black Flip UltraHD camcorder. Finally, Michael Jackson's tribute was broadcast in 3D — did you don your glasses?

The Grammy Awards took over LA's Shrine Auditorium Sunday night, with many of music's biggest stars heading in from the red carpet to see who took home gold. Kicking off the show was a performance from Lady Gaga, which featured a special duet with Elton John in special Gaga-esque makeup and glasses. Beyonce Knowles wasn't able to accept her statue for Song of the Year, which she won for "Single Ladies," since she was getting ready to take the stage and sing a cover of Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know" — watch it here. Ryan Seacrest was soon up to introduce Miss Swift, who joined legendary Stevie Nicks for a rendition of "Rhiannon." Britney stuck close to Jason Trawick all night long. One of the night's cutest moments was when Rihanna and Jay-Z brought up his nephew, Solange Knowles's son Julez, onstage to accept for "Run This Town," though he politely answered "no thanks" when asked if he wanted to say anything to the crowd — check out all the winners on Buzz!

Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas were together for an energetic mix of their recent hits, but it was the Michael Jackson tribute that took things to another level. Lionel Richie introduced a group of artists including Usher, Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood to sing Michael's "Earth Song." The piece was interestingly broadcast in 3-D, though they were back to regular 2-D when Michael's kids Paris and Prince came out to accept an honorary award on behalf of their father. Another touching moment came when Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli performed "Bridge Over Troubled Water" as a tribute to the people of Haiti. It was Beyonce herself who won the Best Female Pop Performance, and she adorably thanked her husband Jay-Z in the front row, even breaking from their usual super-private strategy saying, "I love you!" The biggest honor of the night went to Taylor Swift with her Album of the Year award, making it a pretty sweet night for the star after also winning Country Album of the Year. Afterward she stepped back to the press room to chat about her big wins!

Grammy Press Room: Stephen Colbert Wants to Sing For You

What's a guy like Stephen Colbert doing mingling with T-Pain, Jay-Z, and Lady Gaga?

What's a guy like Stephen Colbert doing mingling with T-Pain, Jay-Z, and Lady Gaga? The comedian and TV host won Best Comedy Album for A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All at this year's Grammys, and also presented the first award of the night — much to the chagrin of his daughter in the crowd.

As to be expected, the funny man provided reporters with plenty of wisecracks about his win (and Lady Gaga) and even shared his favorite bands. Turns out, he's actually pretty cool after all.

On how he feels about winning a Grammy: "It feels fantastic. It feels — I was born for the Grammys. It feels natural. My daughter says I'm finally cool; it''ll probably last until we land in New York."

On if he were nervous about presenting: "I wish it had been the opening number. I would have loved to have sung while I was out there. [Breaks into 'Don't Rain on my Parade'] 'Don't tell me how to live!' Um, just going out there and telling jokes was a ton of fun. I was a little nervous, because it's not exactly, you know, a 500-seat comedy club."

On his music guilty pleasure: "Randy Travis, 'Forever and Ever Amen.' That song, my wife won't be around me when I listen to it, because I start crying. I cry easily."

Buzz-Worthy Video: Stephen Colbert in an Empire State of Mind

Last night Alicia Keys stopped by The Colbert Report, and naturally she and Colbert got to talking about "Empire State of Mind."

Last night Alicia Keys stopped by The Colbert Report, and naturally she and Colbert got to talking about "Empire State of Mind." Though Colbert deemed the tune the new "New York, New York," he did mention one caveat with the lyrics: not enough love for the suburbs. Rather than sit around and wait for Jay-Z to craft a followup, Colbert showed off a hilarious rendition of his own, giving props to Times Square, the Disney store, and commuting from Connecticut. The hoodie-clad fun starts around the five-minute mark.
