State of the Nanny: What Was Banned in 2008?

From banning cigarette sales in San Francisco and Boston drug stores to ticketing people who are annoying in public by words, motions, or signs (interpret that!) in a Michigan city, nanny state laws cans quickly go from public service to first amendment violations. Jessie, I hate the smell of cigarettes too, but it's not fair to ban the sale of them just because we don't like the smell. I mean, I hate when people wear an obnoxious amount of perfume, but I'm not going to ban the sale of strong perfumes.

yeah "fruity booze drinks" are banned here in utah, like mikes hard lemonade, because "it appeals to kids." so stupid.

Did they really ban cigarette sales in San Francisco?!?!?! That's so cool, I understand that this banning can spin out of control, but my nose thanks whoever did that. They've got to put more limits or enforce more (yeah I'm looking at you as*holes who smoke illegally at bus stops) for smoking in public. It is such a disgusting smell :sick:. Can we ban public smoking like we do public drinking and nudity?
