President Obama and First Lady Michelle greeted Indian President Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur at the Obama Administration's first official state dinner Tuesday night.
This was on the news this morning and it makes me SICK. Our country is drownimg, people are losing their homes, losing their jobs and they are having a very expensive dinner. I wonder how
much her dress cost. BTW maybe he should of asked President Manmohan to close all the US companies their (call centers) and bring back jobs to the States. I hate when I call my mortgage
company or credit card company and I'm talking to someone who is not even this country. There MR OBAMA give these coroprations some incentive to bring back all their customer service and call
centers back to America.
I couldn't agree more...how inappropriate. Instead of inviting all the celebrities, how about inviting troops and their families that are fighting to keep this country safe.
I think this is how international politics works and state dinners are important. Anon #2 - if you want companies to bring their call centers back to the US, which I would like too, then you
should ask the companies to do so. The Indian President does not make those decisions; they are based on economics, and it's cheaper for American companies to pay Indian workers than American
workers. I assume you would be happy to pay higher rates for your mortgage and credit card in order to supply the wages for American workers.
It's funny that people look at Obama as having luxurious dinners and criticize him for it yet nothing was said about Bush wasting the country's money. At least Obama donated a turkey for the
hungry. At least since he's been in office, him AND his wife have done many charitable things that bush hadn't done in his 8yrs of Presidency. And who do u think initiated job loss and the
transfer of call centres? Take a look at WHO destroyed the country's economy (Bush) and who is helping it recover (Obama).
And it's no one's business how much Michelle's dress cost, take a look at how much Palin spent on her wardrobe, not to mention one of her stylists that was only there for 3 days and that was
just for the campaign. Can you imagine how much she would be wasting??
And yeah sure he should bring the troops back to be with their families but who deployed the troops in the first place? Get real. Just because he is a democrat and a black president, it
doesn't give you the right to criticize. Ignorance, jealousy and hatred are not virtues. Give Obama the chance that we all gave Bush for 8 years and then criticize.
