I'm calling bogus on this. It's written like a fanfic and not a movie with THAT high of budget and THAT amount of time put into it. Meanwhile, it's not sex. It's a bonding ritual, which sex often is, but it's not sex. For something to be sex, it has to include reproduction (even if you use sex for a bonding ritual and use a condom, it's still sex because it's the mechanisms for transferring genetic material). And since they don't have genitalia, not only is there NO cultural reason for them to be wearing a loin cloth, WHY have they evolved to have gender dichotomy? How do they birth babies? Etc. The scene makes no sense in a movie that otherwise has SOME pesudoscience elements and the writing sounds more like a teenager and less like a professional.

Actually i don't see why they cut that out... It's not overly rude or offensive. The concept is simple to understand if you've seen the film.

a mental energy type connection isn't the same as having sex, which is what happens when they connect .. but that "deleted scene" is soo poorly written its pretty hard to believe it as true. If its true at all, its a terrible intepretation of the actual concept. I for one wondered why they didn't connect during the scene, as well as whatever other type of sex they were having.

thank god they didn't put that scene in the movie. because that would mean that they also have sex with trees, dragons, horses and pterodactyls. GROSS.
