Some skills, like brain surgery and kidney transplantation, require doctors with years of training behind them. And although I know having your nether regions waxed within an inch of its your life should only be handled by a professional, I'm doubting this professional needs to have a PhD in waxing. Perhaps the Brazilian has gotten more complicated since the first — and last — time I got one.

Lol, oh dear.
1lol it's probably more of a humor thing. I worked in the salon business, my aunt owned one in fact that i also worked at and spent a ton of time in as a teenager, and its a pretty widely known fact that its a HUGE risk to get a wax at an unfamiliar place. Not just wonky eyebrows but wax burns, old chemicals, etc. It's pretty common to see snarky logos and signs at salons that do waxing, as well as tanning.
