"I applaud an American President who's tough enough . . . to smile."
— Sean Penn just penned (see what I did there?) an op-ed on the Huffington Post about President Obama's recent encounter with Hugo Chavez. Who needs an army when you got smiles?

I am pretty sure George W smiled too
1Lauren, He did. But usually only when he saw shiny things.
2LOL fuzzles.
3lol thats funny fuzzles. I read the article above and realized, does anyone know that saying, "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" ??? Of course he was happy and smiles with Chavez, duh thats what he needs to do! I normally like Sean Penn, and I will still like him as an actor, but geez lay off the emo comments. Go buy some girls jeans and get a new haircut already sheesh!
4George Bush smiled and laughed... and I feel it was a much more genuine.
5haha!
love my Fuzzles!
6what does that mean?is he even making sense?like it's been mentionned by urban chic101 george bush did smile and laugh too.
7He's not being literal in terms of physically smiling, but what that represents; i.e. being willing to use diplomacy and peaceful means of discussion with those that may not fit the U.S. ideal ally mold (rather than using bombing and other non-peaceful means).
I like Sean Penn, this reminds me why!
8Awwwwwww, love my B, too!
9and ironically we never hardly see Sean Smile.
10LOL CG!
Everyone smile but I don't think he was speaking figuratively. Then again I choose not to feed much esteem into what Sean Penn says outside of his movies anyway.
