In the history of wedding traditions, save the dates are relatively new. But since invitations are typically mailed just six weeks before the big day and guests need to make travel arrangements, these wedding date reminders come in handy, mailed at least six months prior. My fiance and I did the basic save the date magnet you can put on your fridge. We used two baby photo's of us and our announcement: "These two kids are getting hitched!"

I really like all these ideas! I usually cringe at the save the dates I see a lot of times which is just the date on one of the couples engagement photos. Usually the photo is sooo boring and makes the couple look really lame, like a posed picture of them with fake smiles in a park or something. Those just make me think "WHY?" my friends are so cute and fun. I really like these alternatives.
