SNL seems to be back in the business of serious political skewering. Though I think their big laughs are a little sporadic, they're still pretty current. Last night they opened the show with a parody of the now infamous "3 a.m." ads.
Well, they got her famous yellow jacket right! What do you think? Was it worth staying up for? Is SNL better than ever?

It was kind of long, and you are right about there not being big laughs, but sometimes if a skit or a sketch is done well I'm not sure I need the big laughs. I would never watch SNL though, I just watch the clips the next day online...that way I don't have to worry about getting bored!
that sketch was amazingly perfect...but then again I *love* political humor
bleh, I also love political humor. but this is too long and not even many small laughs until the very end.
This was terrible. The only thing, for almost 6 minutes, that was funny was the Bill Clinton joke. I wanted to turn it off after one minute because it was soo-oo-oo boring, but then I couldn't critize it, but even just talking about it makes me sleepy. I love me some political humor, but come on.
i thought it was a funny idea
LOL Tresjolie! I did turn it off then had to go back for your same thought " I wanted to turn it off after one minute because it was soo-oo-oo boring, but then I couldn't critize it, but even just talking about it makes me sleepy." Too funny. It was terrible.
Very Funny
But I still Love Rock Star Obama!

It was long, but a couple parts made me chuckle.
Well, I thought it was funny. Of course, I love political humor. Especially that of SNL.
Really funny.
i agree BeautiJunki, it started out pretty good. I love the concept of it because we all know Hilary is running with that theme of 'I'll be Prepare for Day One' thing but then it started to drag on and on. And i really hope Hilary doesn't bring this up in the next debates.
SNL hasn't been funny in a really long time. The skits that are funny drag on until they aren't, and the non-funny skits are too plentiful.
I thought it was funny, but that was the only part of the episode that made me laugh.
It was pretty funny for the first minute or so, but it started to drag, and then I turned it off
I loved it!
I thought Bob The Builder said Yes We Can first, but whatever the skit was funny.
I love Bob The Builder song!
So ... long ... and ... boring ... must ... nap ...
I've seen molasses move faster and be funnier.
That particular sketch was not funny. Especially since the writers have made no effort to disguise their preference in candidates.
The show itself? Amy Adams was great!
Yeah, I love SNL, but it hasn't been consistently funny for years. It has it's good days to be sure, and there are always a few good sketches in there, but it's definitely not what it used to be. I still watch it and love it though, if only out of loyalty to the show.
This opening was particularly great though; I never saw the "3 AM" advertisements, but this was hilarious and the faces on "Barack" (Fred Armisen) were amazing!
