Sorry but Desert.. I'd have stepped on the cat. Of course it is easy to say that from this end, in your situation I may have tried to avoid kitty and done the same but I've accidentally stepped on him before. He yowls.. and then gets over it. A torn out toenail takes ages to heal. Oooh it hurts to think about.

That's a Maine Coon for ya! I love that breed. They are hearty healthy and just such LOVEABLE kitties!

Oh god, it was going for the ties! My cats love getting underfoot as well; I once tore out my toenail under the door because one of my babies had decided to sit and place her tail exactly where my foot was about to come down. So I had to move it back quickly and into the door I was already closing. The things I do for them...
