Every new year, I make a list of resolutions. And guess what? I never keep them.
I always say I am going to lose weight. Or organize my closet. Or find a better paying job. Did I do any of those things in 2009? I guess you could say a little, but I certainly wouldn't check them off my list. I lost a little weight. I gave some old clothes to charity. While I didn't find a better paying job, I did manage to score a decent raise.
Just because I didn't 100 percent achieve my resolutions doesn't mean 2009 was a bad year. It was actually a pretty good year. Sure it had some ups and downs, but what year doesn't? So here at the end of the year, the only resolution I'm making is not to make any resolutions. This year, I am just going to ride the wave and see what happens. Sure, I'm going to keep trying to improve my life, but overall, I'm pretty happy with things. No resolutions needed.
So what about you? Is this the year you resolve to quit resolving?
