Making new traditions with your significant other is part of the excitement of building a life together, especially during the holidays. Splitting time between family can be somewhat overwhelming, so creating something special — just for each other — that you can look forward to every year is a great way to ease the holiday stress. So on this Christmas Eve, tell me, what traditions have you created with your special someone?

We always spend Christmas eve with our friends, and Christmas day with our families.
1And we open one present on Christmas eve, since we both hate waiting! It seems like each year we always start at least one new tradition, which is always fun.
We make gingerbread together.
2This is the first year that we are going to spend Christmas eve with both families together and my bf and I are making the dinner. Im really excited!
3We were living 1800 miles away from family for several years and that forced us to create a few hoiday traditions for ourselves during that time. So when we moved back home, it was a struggle for us because we'd come to love some of the little things we did on our own. So now we spend Christmas Eve alone; just the two of us; we walk the shops on Fifth Avenue, go to Rockefeller Center to see the tree and the skaters, then walk uptown to our favorite neighborhood restaurant and have dinner. Then when we get home, we have wine or champagne while opening our gifts at midnight. We both love it. It's all about us. We spend Christmas Day with family, so it works out perfectly.
4We open our stockings Christmas eve and then our presents Christmas morning. Then we head to his parents.
Of course that will have to change once we have kids but for now it gives us a little gift today and then more tomorrow.
5We open a few gifts the other cant wait to give, Then we re-wrap them and bring them to his parents house so we have something to open.
6Like this year I got a porcelain tea pot but he'll probably steal it from me
Our anniversary - we first kissed on Christmas night, 3 years ago! So we spend Christmas each with our own families, and then we go home and take off on a trip - depending on the means, just one night away, or sometimes a whole week of celebrations!
7it's the first christmas for my boyfriend and i so we started the tradition of getting an ornament every year. I got the 1st 1 this year and it was engraved and had our picture in it. so cute!
i'm sure we'll make more and more traditions as our relationship progresses.
