Rahm Emanuel Accepts Chief of Staff Position

Representative Rahm Emanuel has accepted the position as Barack Obama's chief of staff. The Illinois congressman called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to inform her of his decision before officially accepting. Emanuel has been a member of Congress since 2003, when he was elected to represent Illinois's fifth congressional district. He was also a senior adviser to Bill Clinton at the White House from 1993 to 1998. At only 49 years old, Rahm will bring even more youth to the Obama White House, and his connections to Congress will help Obama push his agenda.

I was watching Morning Joe this morning and Joe Scarborough didn't seem too happy about the pick b/c he said Rahm is too tough to be chief of staff. I wanted to throw my coffee cup at the TV after that comment. What do they want a bunch of pansies running the White House. Come on. I can't wait to see who else gets picked, so far I'm cool with his picks.

I just finished reading all these comments, and boy do you all have me rolling :ROTFL: I'm still laughing at this one written by *MarinerMandy*..... "I want Obama, Biden, and Emanuel to pose in a library with a fireplace going, looking all sexy and smart surrounded by books and paintings of the founding fathers." *MarinerMandy*, that's a good one. And I know they look good but thank God they're so damn educated and could possibly help us ALL out in the future. Obama appears to be choosing or thinking about a lot of great educated ones to place by his side in the White House....change, change, change, yes, yes, yes :)

i still don't know enough about him, but like i said yesterday, if he was involved in Clinton's camp then i have to have faith that he's going to do something good for us with Obama.

Interesting note, Rahm was the inspiration for the character Josh Lyman on The West Wing. Didn't know that! and his brother is Ari Emanuel..the inspiration for Jeremy Pivon's character in Entourage!
