Let's kick things off with Wednesday's main event: the speech from Paul Ryan. Mitt Romney's running mate delivered his attacks on the Obama administration with an aw-shucks attitude. It went over well with the Ryan supporters in the crowd.
Sill, some of his statements were misleading, like when he said that President Obama promised to keep open a GM plant in Ryan's hometown, when in fact that plant had closed under President George W. Bush. He also bashed the stimulus bill, when he himself asked for funds while in Congress. But that didn't keep him from getting multiple standing ovations from the delegates. They especially enjoyed when he said his mom was his role model, alluded to his anti-abortion beliefs, and delivered this line: "College graduates shouldn't have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms."
After his speech, his three kids and wife took the stage for some hugs and a picture-perfect moment.
