Would You Be OK With Your Husband Foregoing a Wedding Ring?

Word from the palace is Kate Middleton won't get to put a ring on it at the royal wedding. A royal spokesperson tells People: "There is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple's wishes." That ring will be made out of Welsh gold, and it will go on Kate's finger.

Considering two billion people plan on watching the wedding ceremony, I doubt there will be many women out there who don't know William is off the market, ring or not. But it does seem a little bizarre to skip the exchanging of rings. Would you be OK with a ringless groom?

I believe if I'm wearing one, he is wearing one. It's an important symbol to me. I'm the one that takes it off more often though, as I can't stand washing my hands with it on. lol

If I'm wearing one, my husband is wearing one. It's a little different in this situation because the entire world will know that Prince William is a married man. Us average folk though use the ring to let people know that we're unavailable. I'd be upset if I were wearing one and my husband weren't. I think it's totally acceptable for couples to agree to not wear them at all though; pretty much my entire family does this, except for my husband and I.

I would like him to wear one. I understand if he works with his hands a lot, etc. and doesn't want to wear one at work, but I'd definitely want him to wear one if there wasn't a good reason not to.

If I were were wearing a ring, I would definitely expect my husband to wear one! But, honestly, I know married couples who don't wear wedding rings and I feel like it's not that important. If it's really a good, secure relationship then I don't see the need to broadcast his taken-ness with a ring.

My husband and I did not exchange rings and neither of us wear wedding bands. It was up to me to get the rings and I did not, so no rings for us. If I found rings that I liked we would get them, but if we never do then I do not care.

Wow, I voted no only b/c the only men I've met who don't wear one have ended up fucking around on their wives... though I don't wear rings often so I might not want to wear one myself... guess I'll have to find myself a husband before I decide on this one.

i find it kind of strange that i he didn't ask her to marry him for 8 years and then won't wear a wedding ring. while people obviously know he's married it's weird taht he doesn't want one at all. why can't he just have one?

Hopefully you trust the person absolutely when you marry them so it's not a huge deal. It's kind of funny though that between this and giving kate his mother's ring, their ring cost for the wedding comes to 0.

My husband has a ring but rarely wears it. It doesn't matter to me. I like my ring so I wear it all the time. Funny thing is that I bet if I stopped wearing my ring he would probably freak out. haha

The whole world knows that he's engaged and we will all know when he gets married, I dont think it's that big of a deal. Plus, I dont always want to wear a ring, I'd be ok with it too!

I'm getting married in June and my fiance really does not like the idea of having a ring on his finger (he works with his hands a lot and feels like it will bother him). I told him I wanted him to have a ring, and to try it out, and if it was interfering with work/driving him crazy, he doesn't have to wear it - but at least he'd have one. He bought one that is really light-weight and after putting it on for a while, he think he'll get used to it. But if he doesn't, I really don't care if he never wears it.

It wouldn't bother me. None of the men in my family wear their wedding rings and most of the women don't wear them either.
