President Obama's Global Action: A Global Op-Ed
Readers of the Arab Times, Le Monde, Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun, and almost 30 other newspapers around the world got a message from the president of the United States today. After sending his video message to Iran last week, Barack Obama decided to write a global op-ed called A Time For Global Action.
Proving that the economy is now a foreign relations issue, Obama spent most of the piece discussing the proper international response to the crisis. He said:
My message is clear: The United States is ready to lead, and we call upon our partners to join us with a sense of urgency and common purpose. Much good work has been done, but much more remains. Our leadership is grounded in a simple premise: We will act boldly to lift the American economy out of crisis and reform our regulatory structure, and these actions will be strengthened by complementary action abroad. Through our example, the United States can promote a global recovery and build confidence around the world.
Are you happy Obama is spending time to communicate with potential global partners around the world?
