Plane Porn? Southwest's Bar Refaeli Plane Offends Passengers

Southwest Airlines has a sexy new plane in its fleet, but some ungrateful passengers aren't flying high. The plane, decorated with Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli's bikini clad body, has modest families outraged. They say putting the Sports Illustrated cover girl on the plane amounts to soft porn, jumbo jet style. Do you agree, or do people need to lighten up?

bar is stellar, no doubt, but i would prefer to fly on a plane that isn't a swimsuit advertisement. maybe i'll change my mind if they had d becks in his armani tighty whiteys...hmm...then we'll see how the execs at SW would feel about flying in it with their wives and kids: "daddy, why is there a man in his underwear on the plane?"

I don't necessarily think "offensive", but it's very tacky and not necessary at all. I mean why does she have her body on a plane? It just doesn't make any sense.

I also love that fact that probably 99.9999% of people will never see this plane. I mean, I get that it's the "idea behind the plane", but this is on ONE plane, and the chances of us being in the airport, waiting for a flight, looking out the window and seeing this plane are incredibly low. If you're so troubled by the images, you always have the option of turning away. Yes, it's true. You don't actually have to stare! God forbid the image of a woman in her bathing suit sear your eyes forever.

I recall we used to have warnings for "offensive / unsuitable contents" on TV, that gives you choice to see or not to see. Where is that simple freedom we used to have? Sadly yes, putting such disputed image on a plane is like forcing down soft porn down your throat.

It boggles my mind that this picture was even put onto an airplane. It's like some people in society are asking themselves "where can we objectify women next?" ARGH!!! Is this really what you want your kids to see? Yes, Bar Refaeli is a healthier size than other models, but is that the only message that your kids will pick up?

Yes, like many of those before me, I am sooo sick of seeing naked women with their pouty lips and sexy poses everywhere!! Literally EVERYWHERE. I don't even like in a big city right now and it's still everywhere. An important point that no one has seemed to note is that there is a major difference between a regular young woman on the beach in a bikini smiling and having a fun time and a swimsuit/lingerie model rolling around on a beach which giving her best "come f%#k me" face. I'm a student and don't think nudity is a big deal, HOWEVER, when I have kids some day, I do not want my four year old son being influenced by these slutty images and thinking that's what a woman should look like and nor would I want my daughter feeling pressure to have to grow up to look like a supermodel. These slutty images need to stay out of the public and be replaced with healthy, happy, and normal looking women. It's a plane, not Maxim magazine.

I don't particularly like it, but my bigger issue with Southwest putting this on their plane after making such a big fuss about how a passenger was dressed when she had soooo much more on. It is really hypocritical of them and that is what bothers me even more. Not only that, but what is the real point? Are they getting paid a lot to do this? Why don't they put a guy dressed that scantily on one of their other planes?

Hypno, I think the whole point is that people are annoyed with the expansion...we already have to deal with this in all the places you mentioned. Like I said, it isn't outrage, so much as it is annoyance.
