After receiving their gold medals, Team Canada celebrated with beer and cigars. The IOC has decided to also award the women's hockey team with an investigation for inappropriate behavior for the celebration. Deserved?

Ah, who cares if it's on the ice. Hmm, as long as a grimy despicable reporter doesn't stick around. Oh, and the beer has to been Canadian, or a good canadian beer.

Yeah, it's amazing what the what people will let slide if it's a man who commit the indiscretion. Excuses, and no love lost, but a woman does it, and all the catty people of the world, who know only what their media has told them, complain that the women should be punished. That's sure right.

A few critical differences between this situation and the toolbaggery of Michael Phelps:a.) He was not standing on the deck of the Water Cube after an Olympic medal ceremony.b.) He wasn't wearing his Team USA suit or uniform.c.) He wasn't sporting his Olympic medals.d.) He was off-season.And, contrary to popular belief, there is some evidence showing that Michael Phelps did indeed play a role, although limited, in the hanging of the stars.

I think the behavior by the US team after they lost was far more disrespectful and disgusting than the Canadians drinking beer and smoking cigars. What a bunch of unsportsman like, sad face, whiny women!! They still won silver! Would it have killed them to at least put a smile on their faces? Pathetic.
The American Team asked Scotty Lago to leave, so as not to make them look bad, he wasn't kicked out by the hosts. (and what he did was more disrespectful to the Olympic medal.) People underage drink all the time, and they are rarely punished. (Now, if she was using an illegal during I could understand her getting in trouble, wait a minute, Michael Phelps didn't, people still love him and act like he hung the stars.) The only reason the world knows is because some pictures appeared. Only one of the Canadian women were underage. And well she's not being interviewed on late night TV. None of the players are be interviewed everywhere, unlike the other Canadian athletes who have won medals. They are not being made national heroes on TV, it's not even a big deal in Canada, only outside the country. No one would care if men were doing this.

Well I certainly don't think any of them (Canadian women or Lago) should have to leave the games early. But there should have been some kind of reprimanding for their behavior. It seemed like they were quick to boot Lago for his behavior, but when others behaved disrespectfully (and illegally), it was dismissed.

So underage drinking on Olympic ice is acceptable...but photos of a girl kissing your bronze medal gets you sent home a week early. Gotcha.
If this was the men's team absolutely no one would care. This is sexism plain and simple.

I don't care what they do to celebrate but I do care where. Hockey is a game of sportsmanship and honor you do not disrespect the ice especially OLYMPIC ice. The IOC's biggest problem was with the illegal underage drinking. The drinking age in Vancouver is 19 and there are photos of 18 year-old players drinking...

I don't understand what the big deal is. It was half an hour after the ceremony and everyone had left (except for this photographer). I think some people are making a stink about it because it's the Olympics and maybe they wouldn't celebrate with a beer and a cigar. I understand some people think it should be limited to the locker room, but what if those pictures were to surface? Every year after the World Series, pictures are released of the players celebrating in the locker room and they are spraying champagne on eachother and smoking cigars. No one cares. They are celebrating. Let them have their moment. However they choose to celebrate is their deal. They deserve it.

Whatever. I'm Canadian so I may be biased. Even though I'm against smoking, I don't think this is a big deal. I probably would lose myself if I were to win a gold medal.

Fuzzles...I highly doubt that these pictures will overshadow the achievements of the women's hockey team. It is a situation that has been completely blown out of proportion. It may be unsportsman like or wrong in some people's opinion, but it hardly warrants this time of reaction. The Canadian Women's Team is awesome!! And that is how they will be remember!!!
