John McCain was onto something when he called Barack Obama one of the biggest celebrities in the world. While the first-family-in-waiting rings in a Mele Kalikimaka from Hawaii, he's been followed by paparazzi usually found on the A-list celebrity beat.
While swimsuit pics of Jennifer Aniston, Britney Spears, and Matthew McConaughey are common, we sure haven't seen a flood of pics of President Bush in his swim trunks over the last eight years.

Gorgeous
Hotness. Love the whole family.
1His personal life has charmed and fascinated far more people than his predecessors, so I'm not surprised. Also, we live in a far more paparazzi-infested time than ever before, which probably accounts for some of the discrepancies in interest between him and those who came before.
2I just hope my mom and aunt do not see these shirtless pictures...I swear I am already tired of them saying "Barack Obama..... with his fine ass"!
3As big a spell as the MSM has put over the rest of society, I'm surprised that it's just the paparazzi. I would've thought this guy would have millions flocking to Hawaii right now to catch a glimpse of the man, the myth, the legend, the President-elect....
4I'm not surprised.
5But quite frankly, I don't know why we need to see the President-elect shirtless.
6I dont get why people think he is "hot" but thats a personal preference I suppose.
The paps are everywhere, if Lindsay Lohan can get THAT many people to take her pictures, and websites like Pop to obsess over her than the president-elect will be getting some attention also.
7The President-elect would be roundly mocked if he went sunbathing or swimming with a shirt on. Some people surely would want immediate investigations into what he was covering up.
8While I think it is a bit odd to see the President-elect with out a shirt on, I think it is great that he is keeping things so normal with him and his family.
I think it is FANTASTIC that we have a President who makes fitness a priority. If Obama could fit in work outs with his crazy campaign schedule, it kind of makes ordinary excuses sound weak! I truly believe that the lack of fitness and health of our citizens is destroying our country in many ways, and having a role model like this is something our country really needs.
I think his daughters are so cute! Sisters are truly a blessing.
9No surprise, he has been made into a celebrity by the media so they are going to treat him as such.
10I'd rather look at these pictures than at any of the Olsen twins or Speidi.
11Aw, I wish the paps would leave them alone. I think right now, the paps' interest is at an all-time high as they try to be the firsts to catch the president-elect in a bathing suit, eating spam, swimming, surfing, drinking a piña colada, clipping his toe nails etc. (though in all seriousness, hopefully not the latter). Once he's in D.C. full time, they might leave them alone more...
Having said that, lookin' good prez!
12Sure when's the last time we had a President with pecs instead of man boobs.
13
14haha basty!!
15I think the paps are trying to catch a shot to knock him off his pedestal that the MSM has put him on. It's a sad life when you aren't able to make any move without it being photographed. But I think he also brought that upon himself, as did many celebrities, his campaign was run on charisma and being cool so this is what it will get you.
16I agree though really weird to see the president elect without a shirt on.
And almost every president I can remember has always been seen working out and making fitness a priority. So not sure why anyone would think Obama is different because of that. There is many videos, pictures, etc... of Clinton and Bush running.
Oh, and why this is a post on citizen sugar and not pop sugar, I will never understand!
17Clinton looked 100 times better with a shirt on, so did Poppi Bush and Ronald Reagan - I can't think of any pics of W shirtless. I'm willing to bet Carter, Ford and Nixon benefitted from clothes as well.
18When did he run on being cool? He is cool because that is his personality.
19I think Wanda can shed more lite on that Hainan57

20I don't know, Steph, shirtless Bill? HAWT, if you ask me.
21"his campaign was run on charisma and being cool so this is what it will get you."
Depends on which side you were on.
22I also don't know if he really comes across as being that cool. I mean, he didn't know Weezie was George's wife on the Jeffersons. Honestly, not cool.
23OK, now I'm just posting comments to see my cute avatar in multiples.
24He didn't know who Weezie was,oh my that's black sacrilege
25I always thought he was kind of a dweeb. In a good way.
26Did I really just say "dweeb"?
27Haha dweeb..you said dweeb
28It is what it is. And I think he looks fantastic, healthy and happy. This time next year, I hope I can say the same thing.
29I think it is so funny that it is always the people who didn't support him who like to tell those that did what he ran on! Hysterical!
And while Clinton did "run", he also famously ate Big Macs. No, he was not a role model for health and fitness. I think this is the first Pres who could actually pass the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge in all categories!
30Doesn't surprise me at all. He's a big celeb right now.
31Well according to John McCain, Obama *IS* the world's biggest celebrity!
Just joshin!
32Here is a slideshow of other Presidents in swim trunks. Ford doesn't look half bad! Regan liked Hawaii as well.

33I personally don't think Obama looks that great without a shirt on, I mean it isn't like he has a six pack. Although i don't find him cute either way, I prefer him with a shirt on.
34I mean look at the side view... those a definitely bordering on man boobs... And those house slippers.... oh boy!
35Jill :
"If Obama could fit in work outs with his crazy campaign schedule, it kind of makes ordinary excuses sound weak!"
I was just thinking that....and feeling guilty.
36The slideshow pics are great! The one with the Clinton's in Hawaii doesn't look like any Hawaiian waters i've seen. It looks like a lake! And I ♥ Ron and Nancy!
37Six packs kind of freak me out. They remind me of insect thoraxes. Or trilobites. Just weird.
38"Or trilobites"
I love those things. I had so many "fossils" of them when I was younger. I was a real science nerd!
39I would like to apologize to the late Gerald Ford -
I just checked the slide show and he was not too shabby with his shirt off.
40I am very, very sorry for suggesting otherwise.
Jillness, I completely agree with this
I think it is so funny that it is always the people who didn't support him who like to tell those that did what he ran on! Hysterical!
... except I might have used the word "Obnoxious" instead of "Hysterical".
41Regan is cute with his belly and white trunks!
42yum! I'm grad we are objectifying men for a change, we heard so much about Palin's legs in the campaign, nice to see Obama get in on it.
...oh and just the fact that he straps his blackberry to his belt is enough to kill any argument that he ran on being cool.
I always saw him as the geeky dad who has his moments.
43Six-packs are gross. I don't like the "I spend all my time lifting weights and oiling my body" look.
44*glad not grad, i wish i was a grad this year...
45Exactly, Jude.
GS--I love those 'fossils' too.
46What, no shirtless Taft photos?
47something just occur ed to me...if someone can bring a camera within range for a picture....what else can they get that close with.
I get they use zoom, but many rifles can be just as advanced, right?
I'm surprised the SS would let people get this close.
48Oy Zeze, I thought of that too... The Secret Service seems to be slacking off.
49EW, Blue.
