Renewing Vows on Your First Anniversary — Sweet or Too Soon?

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom renewed their vows Monday, only one year after their wedding. While Khloe wore white and carried a bouquet, the couple kept things fun with blindfolds and a guest list that included friends, family, and Jersey Shore's Snooki. Most of us don't have the budget to renew our vows with a huge ceremony only a year after throwing a wedding. But it could be sweet to do something small, sentimental, and not so pricey to mark your first year of wedded bliss. Would you?

I think it's sweet. Marriage has a 50-50 chance of making it these days. A little reminder every year may be a good thing for some people. We're all different after all. Hubby and I have talked about renewing our vows in Italy...just the two of us on our 5 year. It's not the end of the world if we don't but it might be romantic!

some things are special because they only happen once. like celebrating "graduating" from kindergarten or getting that first grown up job. how weird would it be to "celebrate" those every year, or every 5th year? you got married; you made your point. my dad just went to a vow renewal for friends. they've been married 40 years. still bugged me. i don't think i'd even go. so sappy it gives me the heeby-geebies. who came up with this anyway, the wedding industry?

Heidi and Seal do it every year and they go all out! That to me is a little overkill. But they can afford to do that, so that's their perogative.Personally, I want to wait until at least 5 (next year) or 10 years before renewing.

I think it's personal. Most people do something special for their first anniversary so why make fun of these two for renewing their vows? It's not what i would choose to do, just because it took over a year for me to even want to think about planning another wedding, but to each her own.

I'm sorry, but I can't understand where "huge ceremony" is coming from. Apparently, it was very small and a surprise. I think it's adorable (though I agree the dress is not).

For most of us, too soon. But making it to one year is a huge accomplishment for these two. And huge accomplishments need to be celebrated with highly publicized events and dresses that have corsets on the thigh, obvs.
