Today President Obama and US governors will get down to business, mapping out how the $787 billion economic stimulus will be spent, but last night the first couple welcomed them into the White House for the first black-tie affair.

Before the party dined on favorite dishes of the president (scallops) and first family (huckleberry cobbler), Obama toasted the nation's governors, saying, "to the certain hope that despite our current travails, that we will all emerge more prosperous and more unified than we were before."

Michelle does look gorgeous!!!! And Barack looks very handsome :-). I can't tell if Michelle actually cut her hair or it's just a visual, but it looks great here.

Michelle looks stunning. The gown flatters her every inch and she just looks amazing. Not overly done up, just perfect!

Michelle looks gorgeous. So do Arnold and Maria, and I love the pic of Michelle talking with Arnold. But this seemed like a night where Michelle really shined. I'm not sure people will complain about the money spent on this one. I mean this is a traditional, historical thing that the President does. Besides, isn't this one of the things that is budgeted for?
