Half Pakistani, Zayn's interest in Eastern culture extends to the four tattoos he's sporting: a peace sign on his arm, a Yin Yang symbol on his wrist, his grandfather's name in Arabic written on his chest, and "Born Lucky" written in Japanese on his stomach. In terms of the band's phenomenal popularity in the US, Zayn confessed, "We thought it could be the same few hundred people tweeting us over and over again. Until we got to America, we didn't realize how crazy it was."
