Obese Inmate Sues Jail Because He's Lost 100 Pounds An inmate awaiting trial on a murder charge is suing the county, complaining he has lost more than 100 pounds because of the jailhouse menu. Broderick Lloyd Laswell says he isn't happy that he's down to 308 pounds after eight months in the Benton County jail. He has filed a federal lawsuit complaining the jail doesn't provide inmates with enough food.

Oh...screw that...I find it fcked up that we have good families and children in America living under the poverty level while our more serious inmates are well-fed and have health insurance to boot. Oh please, aren't we helping the wrong people here?

"The suit also asks that the county be ordered to serve hot meals. The jail has served only cold food for years."Actually, THAT part of the suit makes sense to me - I can't imagine eating nothing but cold food!But, I also can't imagine beating and stabbing someone and setting their house on fire.

i just cant imagine someone who weighed 408 pounds committing murder. did he fall on someone? then again, i guess it doesnt require too much agility to fire a gun.

The only possible settlement should be an operation for him to get his newly made extra skin taken off so they can donate it to children who are burn victims.

100 pounds in 8 months? That's not even drastic enough to count as unsafely fast weight loss. I hope his lawyer is laughed out of local social circles.

this is ridiculous. he's a killer, he's in jail, and is crying bc he's not eating 10000 calories a day? give me a break. maybe if he hadnt have stabbed someone and set their house on fire, he'd still be happily on his way to heart failure.
