Say What?

"I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like OJ, cutting everybody's throat.

"I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like OJ, cutting everybody's throat. You see a 19-year-old-boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is in your bed with your wife . . . I mean I totally understand OJ. I get it."

— Hulk Hogan, who says his divorce and his ex-wife's new boyfriend made him understand why men kill their wives. Hulk's rep went on to clarify the remarks: "Hulk in no way condones the OJ situation. As part of a larger conversation, he referred to it to exemplify his frustration with his own situation." That makes it all better. Not.

Would You Buy Octomom Diapers?

If celeb moms like Tori Spelling and Nicole Richie can design their own lines of baby and maternity clothes, why can't Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to eight babies via IVF earlier this year?

If celeb moms like Tori Spelling and Nicole Richie can design their own lines of baby and maternity clothes, why can't Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to eight babies via IVF earlier this year? According to the US Patent and Trademark Office, Suleman's attorneys filed two applications to trademark her media-given moniker, Octomom, and giving permission "to use my nickname as Trademark or Servicemark." The papers state that Suleman intends to place the name on a line of dresses, pants, shirts and diapers.

Would you buy any Octomom products?

The president of Domino's Pizza, Patrick Doyle, has released a video where he apologizes for the disgusting behavior of two Domino's employees.

Earlier this week, a YouTube video was uncovered of a male and female performing unsanitary acts while making sandwiches at a North Carolina outpost of the pizza chain. Although the two employees were fired and charges are being pressed, Doyle hopes to reassure consumers of Domino's commitment to sanitary practices.

Check out his apology below and tell me: What's your take of the situation? Do you expect a large company, like Domino's, to apologize for the actions of two workers?

Sarah Palin Still Hasn't Dumped Her Pro-Marital Rape Nominee

Revelations about Wayne Anthony Ross, Sarah Palin's choice for Alaska attorney general, have me wondering: what did she possibly see in him?

Revelations about Wayne Anthony Ross, Sarah Palin's choice for Alaska attorney general, have me wondering: what did she possibly see in him?

Some of the accusations leveled against Ross include: he's called homosexuals "degenerates," ridiculed an African-American student who was offended by a KKK art project, worked to undermine Native American tribal sovereignty, and defended men who rape their wives. Is there anyone he hasn't managed to affront? Oh yeah, straight white men.

The accusation that he is a defender of marital rape got his confirmation off track this week. An antidomestic-violence lobbyist sent a letter to the Alaskan legislature accusing Ross of saying in 1991: "If a guy can't rape his wife, who's he gonna rape?" Ross denied making the comments.

But women's rights groups say Ross has a habit of making antiwoman remarks. He allegedly once said: "If a woman would keep her mouth shut, there wouldn't be an issue with domestic violence."

If Sarah Palin wants to win back the women's vote for Republicans in 2012, she'd better distance herself from public figures like Ross. It looks like she might do just that — she's considering scraping his nomination before it goes to a vote.

I recently discussed two easy ways to recycle your printer cartridges, but what about all of your other gadgets? By the sounds of it, Radio Shack has a pretty sweet new green trade-in program where they will take your old gadgets — whether it's a camera, MP3 player, gaming console, cell phone, or something else — determine the value of your products, then give you a Radio Shack gift card. It'll be interesting to hear how much people are given for their gadget goods.

Vermont Moves to Reduce Teen "Sexting" Charges

Is anyone as baffled as I am that this ever became an issue?

Is anyone as baffled as I am that this ever became an issue? Most states, including Vermont, don't distinguish between pedophiles who own and distribute sexually explicit images of minors and minors (probably mostly underage teenage girls) who send texts with naked pictures of themselves to their hormonally overcharged minor boyfriends.

"If a 14-year-old girl decides to send a picture of her breasts to her boyfriend who's 15," said Vermont State Sen. John Campbell, "she has just become a transmitter of child pornography and he is in possession of child pornography. And as such, they are now on the lifetime sex-offender registry.”

What does this mean for them? Try getting into college (or a job) as a registered sex offender. As a result of this harsh penalty, the Vermont legislature has proposed decriminalizing consensual "sexting" between kids who are between 13 and 18 — but some people think this is encouraging teens to continue.

Isn't the whole point of these laws to keep images of underage teens away from creepy adults? There has to be a better way of encouraging kids with impulse control problems from getting naked and sending pictures of themselves to their puppy loves than to charge them with an adult offense. The law recognizes and tempers the repercussion against kids who commit violent acts — why not something dumb like sexting? (And are my eyes deceiving me, or is Internet Safety Expert Donna Rice up there the Donna Rice from the Gary Hart "Monkey Business" scandal that ended his campaign for the presidency in 1987?!) When Married Isn't Married: Rights Denied to Gay Spouses

Hey there, same-sex married couples in Vermont, Iowa, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

Hey there, same-sex married couples in Vermont, Iowa, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. So you think you finally got equal rights now that gay marriage is legalized? Think again! Sadly these giant steps toward equality don't go all the way.

Same-sex couples are denied benefits granted to other legally married couples. While gay couples in most US states still have to fight for marriage, once they succeed, the journey is not over. Among the benefits denied to legally married same-sex couples:

  1. Immigration rights: Legally married same-sex couples do not have a right to sponsor their foreign spouses for green cards.
  2. Tax breaks: When filing tax returns, couples cannot check "married filed jointly." This can cost them thousands of dollars each year.
  3. Social Security, Medicaid, veteran, and other federal benefits: The federal Defense of Marriage Act denies same-sex spouses these rights. For example, heterosexual spouses receive Social Security payments upon the death of a spouse.
  4. Family and medical leave: Same-sex spouses are not granted up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave from work to care for a seriously ill spouse.
  5. Retirement: Same-sex couples cannot inherit 401(k)s and other property without a will.

Some Mothers Look Like Their Daughters Naturally . . .

And others will pay for the privilege.

And others will pay for the privilege.

This is straight up twinsanity! "Love you like a sister" is a sweet sentiment unless you're 50 years old and spend 10,000 British pounds (about $15,000) to look like your 28-year-old daughter. But that's just what Janet Cunliffe did to look like her daughter Jane.

In her 30s, Janet became unhappy with her breasts, which she thought were too small and saggy. She got plastic surgery in the hopes she could save her ailing marriage, but alas, she and her husband divorced. By 40, she moved to Spain and met someone new, but between ruptured implants, followed by even bigger breast implants, her post-marriage relationship ended. Once she moved back to England to live with her daughter, she began despairing about her age. This led to a punishing round of dieting, plastic surgery on her nose, eyes, and lips, and of course, hair extensions.

Now that people think Janet and Jane are sisters — and sometimes even twins — Janet claims she's happy. "It's not a competition," she argues. "This has always been about my own confidence and self-esteem. I haven't done this to get a man, I'm happy spending time with my daughter and reliving my youth, thanks to my new look."

Socializing with friends her own age, starting a new hobby, and meeting new people (activities to cultivate her inner self) didn't help her — but plastic surgery did? Wow. If this is progress — count me out. Click here to read more about Janet, Jane, and "Operation Overhaul."
