Man Eats 15-Pound Burger: Cool or Gross?

This dude downed a beast of a burger in just under five hours to win $400, some T-shirts, and the title of "Dude Who Ate a Giant Burger." The Beer Barrel Belly Bruiser (I'm not making that up) weighs 20.2 pounds overall, including the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, and peppers, and a cup each of ketchup, mayo, and relish. I'm kind of revolted and awed at the same time. Then again, if it were 15 pounds of nachos I'd be all over it faster than you can say "que bueno"!

Hats off to him for actually finishing it, but I question WHY ON EARTH he would want to do that to himself?!

yuck. i totally agree with you rossy. i do not get these contests either. as a vegetarian, i am not impressed at all. in fact, i think this is the stupidest contest i have ever seen (minus the hot dog eating contests). :sick:

God! That would (given cutting it in sections & lots of freezer bags) a year's worth of burgers.At the very least feed several homeless people in a sitting. That's why I don't understand these kinds of "contests" - Pure gluttony at its saddest. I was watching an episode of "Dirtiest Jobs" where the host, Mike Rowe, went with the NYSD (New York Sanitation Department, or maybe it was the L. A. sanitation Dept.) to learn why their job is the dirtiest - Cleaning sewers for a living...What really shocked me was when they collected waste bins of food thrown out of restaurants at closing time - So depressing to know that it could feed people who might not eat every day. But it doesn't really go to "waste" - It all gets processed as compost to enrich vineyards & gardens. So, in that respect, it's a good thing?Goodnight

Seriously? I think it's pretty spectacular than he can eat that entire thing. So what if it's bad for him? We don't have to live with the reprecussions. Obviously he thought it was worth it, and I'm impressed.

Gross...and I'm not impressed. I wouldn't want 15 pounds of any food within 4 hours, even if it's something that wouldn't clog up my arteries. I feel nauseous.

The actual thought of myself or anyone digesting 20 pounds of meat is gross. The fact that someone actually did it is kinda cool. I hope he only eats fiber for the next month.
