I was close! Cost-cutting for sure.
Lame name.
1WHAT IS THIS?!
2It looks like Tress Sugar, the Sugar sight all about hair!
3Er, site.
4So Citizen and Dear have merged?
5And giggle. Into an hybrid that doesn't seem the involve the best of any of them.
6Ahh RIP Citizen
But I like the name. Tres as in Very with the accent!
Let's see what you got...
7This doesn't..... really.... make sense to me.
I mean, I understand what happened, but it just seems silly to me to put those three together. I would sooner merge Pop, Fab and Buzz, or Casa and Yum. Savvy and Citizen would be better.
This just seems random. Like the sites got thrown into a hat and three were drawn.
8Not a good mix. RIP Sugar.
9bad choice of a combination......
10wha? I would rather have the anon comments...
11If anything Savvy, Geek and Citizen should have combined. Having Citizen combine with Dear just seems like a dumbing down or shallowing out of Citizen Sugar, especially when you consider the sheer volume of Dear posts.
RIP...
12i cant magine citizen merging with anyone.. its political and news based.. this will take some getting used to.
13Wow. Wasn't expecting this. I guess I'll see how this goes, but I don't have a good feeling about this one.
RIP
14I think that labeling a site as a "sex" site will prevent a lot of people from looking at the site at work. I think more people would have access if it was called "dating" or "relationships". The term "sex" will lump you in with porn.
And I am pretty irritated that i can't find threads that were there earlier today.
15You have got to be kidding me. This is definitely dumbing politics and current events down as much as possible.
I will admit my favorite site is Jezebel, which does combine sex, fashion, cultural issues and politics, however that site is one continuous blog. Here, different topics already were separate, and it makes sense. This is sad and pathetic, and the content won't be nearly as good as Jezebel anyway...
16I never liked citizensugar, mostly because of the limited important international stories that were chosen ... but I think that there needs to be a separate news site (hopefully with better stories).
News+Sex advice+Humour is kind of like overhearing various conversations at a cocktail party. Oh well, if that's what they're going for.
17Way to abandon many of your regulars, Sugar Inc.
Very disappointed in this news.
18
me too
19Let's wait and see.
20What an awkward combination....
21If I wanted news and sex together, I'd have sex while I watch the news. They obviously don't freaking mix unless you have boring sex life. What possessed you guys to think that this would work?
Geez if you just wanted to get rid of Citizen you should've just done so. This dumbing down is an insult to all of the members here who only actively participate in Citizen.
22This is gross.
23"This is gross."
completely agree
24Well I am glad I stopped posting on Citizen months ago, because this is a horrible idea.
Sorry regulars. This is really lame for all of you.
25What the heck is this? I logged on tonight to this crap! And what is with sex being in the description? Ugh
26What? News is now sex and culture? I just don't understand the merge. I've already lost interest. I'm not the slightest bit curious to see where this is going. Bye sugar,
27I don't like this at all. No offense Sugars, but you've almost lost my readership with this move....
28Definitely cost cutting...but of everything, why cut citizen sugar? I loved having having a place to read what other gals like me were thinking about politics & news stories...
29Great, now I won't be able to read things at work...
Me no likey...
30I agree with those that say the lumping of these three topics does nothing but dumb down citizen. Hopefully, with the amount of negative response, they will do the smart thing and make citizen as important as it was.
31Well, that's stupid. News under Sex and Culture? Really? Really? Who's bright idea was that? It looks like Sugar is just lumping the two topics that garner the most commenter responses.
32I hate the name...in fact, I might stop coming.
33I think they are all too busy Twittering and watching The Hills to care
34BOO!
Aren't poor ad sales the problem? Well, since you've now lost a bunch of readership, good luck with the ad sales when your unique visitors now plummet.
Very disappointed. This will be my last day here.
Ladies! I'll see you on LiberalSugar, ModerateSugar, or ConservativeSugar!

35Oh, boy...why, oh why are you doing this!
36"If I wanted news and sex together, I'd have sex while I watch the news."
37Ughhh. I liked Citizen Sugar because I liked the light take on politics. Sex and culture and jokes and personal stuff diluting the political discussions?
Booooooooooo.
I'm not looking for "smart, sexy, and fun" in my politics, thanks. Looks like I'm outta here...
38I am really disappointed about this too!
39So dissapointing! I wont be coming back.
40So dissapointing! I wont be coming back.
41NOT A FAN while I understand a lot of readers went back and forth between "sugars" I think that citizen had the most distinct readers from anyother "sugar lounge". Seriously it's one thing to revamp Dearsugar but mixing that with Citizensugar seems like a mismatch. I'm not sure the reasoning behind this but it would have made more since to mix Popsugar and FabSugar and leave Citizen was is! I wish you all the luck...your going to need it!
42I'm not too thrilled about this, either. I could be mistaken, but it sounds like you're going to be switching the focus from the most newsworthy stories to the most titillating - and frankly, it's a little insulting. I think you underestimate your readership. I don't need sex to make current events interesting; as hard as it may be to believe, I am a young woman who is interested, yes, in fashion, beauty, and culture - but also in politics and current issues, and I don't need them wrapped up in a "sexier" story-of-the-day kind of context to make them palatable.
Okay, that might have been harsh: I love the Sugar network, and I'm sure this was motivated by ad revenue or whatever rather than a true disregard for your readers' interests, but I still can't help but be disappointed.
43Everyone who is unhappy with this please join True Song's group CITIZEN 4.0. http://teamsugar.com/group/3040631
44There are contributers of all political affiliations.
All the cool kids are doin' it! (joining CITIZEN 4.0)
45This is an odd combination.... I wonder is its going to be nsfw
46"I think they are all too busy Twittering and watching The Hills to care"
47Okay, humor + community/politics + advice about sex and love? Where is the link, TeamSugar? DearSugar going into TresSugar if it was meant to be "hip" and about love and sex I could understand, because let's face it: advice these days seems to be mainly about those kind of things, but why add politics and humor to those? GiggleSugar and CitizenSugar should have been kept separate! It makes things more confusing to add them all together!
48Oh man Tres Sugar what the hell is that suppose to mean? Ya'll keep moving the furniture around here. Maybe if you explained the big picture and where you see Sugar going that would help our vision too.
49Oh man, I typed in Citizen Sugar and this came up. I liked the old system.
