Johnny Depp stopped by David Letterman's studios in NYC today to tape an interview that airs Thursday evening. Johnny has been in the Big Apple this week promoting his movie The Rum Diary and joined his costar Amber Heard to debut the film in the city last night. Johnny has also made time to indulge his musical side in between his press stops for the movie. Last weekend, Johnny took the stage with ZZ Top in Austin, TX, to play guitar with the band! The Rum Diary is getting mediocre reviews so far, but Johnny has said the movie was a personal passion for him, as he's playing a version of his longtime friend Hunter S. Thompson in the film. It's the second time he's portraying the writer on the big screen, having also taken on the role in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which hit theaters more than a decade ago.
Ryan Gosling made his way to The Late Show With David Letterman in NYC this afternoon looking handsome in a brown suit and Persol shades. Ryan made the pit stop at CBS studios to talk about his upcoming movie Crazy, Stupid, Love, which hits theaters later this month, and he'll stick around the Big Apple for a press junket this weekend and premiere on Tuesday. He'll be promoting yet another project when he heads to Comic-Con in San Diego next Thursday. Ryan will be at the California convention for a panel about his action movie Drive, which he presented at Cannes in May and at the LA Film Festival last month. Drive hits theaters in the Fall, as does Ryan's George Clooney-directed political drama The Ides of March. Ryan is already planning to team up with Drive's director and his friend Nicolas Winding Refn again soon, signing on to star in the auteur filmmaker's period piece Only God Forgives, and he will also reunite with his Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance for The Place Beyond the Pines.
